Yes sayop but it doesnt equate at all na mo label ta niya ug BOGO , TUGA TUGA ug PAKA-UWAW . Isnt that what we call CRABBING ?

Instead of saying .... she should have taken GRAMMAR CLASSES , improve her ACCENT , study the possible and normal questions ina pageant but hey , ATAKE man dayon si PINOY na kaugalingon na KAMPO man diay ang target .

    ================================================== ================================================

Just like what ROCK CANDY aka BITCH GODDESS said ... I myself had said enough and what I think out of my opinion on matters regarding the issue of Bb PILIPINAS . My only take was , give her the benefit of the doubt . Nahug man gud na mas nakamao man nuon ta niya when in fact we are not . Have fun posting !

one can be labeled a crab if one is also interested of her crown...and does this cat (<---) look like he's at it? come on guys.
If we think one is to be labelled a "crab" only if interested ka sa crown, then we are dead wrong. actually, there are a lot of ways...

    balikon nako ha:

Crab mentality - (1) this term is broadly associated with short-sighted, non-constructive thinking rather than a
    unified, long-term, constructive mentality.

    - (2) to "pull down those who strive to be better."

    - (3) if you are trying to succeed, your fellow Filipinos will do everything to undermine or
    second guess your success.

take special note sa no. 3 definition...it's not crap.

if she really deserve the crown then good for her...
the question lies with the judges...
as to why she won even though technically she havent answered the question....

the question is: how much percentage is the Q&A from the overall criteria? even if she didn't answer, it's likely that she had big scores from other categories that made her win overall...

Besides, walay Q&A sa Miss World...

Its not crabbing when one merely opines she deserved all the ridicule or negative criticisms. I or some of us here was/were more of trying to look back (or postmortem discussion lang) pointing out the consequence/lessons for doing the wrong thing. Like:

    1. Faking confidence. It is normal to feel daunted in a competition or in front of a live audience. She didn't have to fool her way to win the sympathy of the judges or audience by saying: "I don't feel any pressure right now." This is dung. We all know how terrible it is to be there...why can't she be honest about it?

    2. Concocting a poor alibi - "I am just only 17" is certainly too lame to spare her to say a couple of honest lines about people that matter in her joining the pageant. As I have said, it (the question) was not rocket science to begin with. The "trying to impress" side of Janine drove her to figure out for a killer answer to a very simple question. And when she couldn't find one, it surprised me how quick she was to bail her nice butt out that - "I'm just only 17." An honest answer would have suffice NOT alibis. For people to laugh at her sorry alibi is not crabbing at all -- its just another way of saying "hahahaha...there goes, sh!t" and people have the right to say or laugh at sh!t that stares you at the face.

    3. Arrogantly Defiant - What was she trying to prove when Paulo Bediones' came to her rescue to rather say it in Tagalog? Apparently, she entertained the idea AT FIRST but it was clear that she was too embarrassed to admit her English inadequacy being a communications student that she is -- when all the judges really wanted to hear was an honest answer. And I think it is not crabbing when people are averse over her "trying to be what she was not" at that point.

The whole point to all the "crabbing" if you will (which is really not), is to point out how ridiculous or how seriously disgusting one can appear to be in a pageant of such kind for "trying to be not herself."

    1) how do you know/guess if one is crabbing?
    2) do negative opinions always translate/necessitate to the idea of crabbing?
    3) how can one say its crabbing when she's already on top?...and no crab for sure would be so good enough to steal her crown while she's there.

anyways...i have no ill-feelings for her...i just said that she deserved all the trouble that she is going through now. and i think i have made my answers clear in my previous post.

i think it's simple: some people are disappointed because she didn't meet our expectations of a beauty--and brain-- queen.

    crown = expectations

Overall I think she handled the situation with charm which I think was the reason why Janina ended up winning the pageant

im not referring to u when i defined "crab mentality". i was dispelling ur notion that it has to be in interest of the crown to label one as a "crab".

and of ur pointing out the supposedly wrong things like faking confidence, concocting alibi, or defiance, well, i am just not sure. i see that as some sort of negative criticism or analysis and w/o benefit of the doubt at the sides. we myt also say that they are short-sighted, non-constructive thinking...it myt or myt not be called crabbing. u decide...

faking confidence - it's more on "trying" and "lying" to be confident...she admitted she's not in the middle of her answer. "sorry guys, i told u i'm confident". she lied but admitted later. even if it's "faking", under stage-fright, the best u can do is "fake" it...GRACE UNDER PRESSURE if we put it...

concocting alibi - what would u do if u r already panic-stricken and toasted? u concoct one, or adlib...it's not a crime u know...it's not an investigation at the senate...

arrogantly defiant - arrogance? or maybe coz of her ego naigo na. defensive mode as we put it. the questions are in English, so she myt have thought it's more proper to answer the English question with English...

again, it boils down to giving her the benefit of the doubt...

and how do we know one is crabbing?

phrases like "WALANG UTAK", "NOT WORTHY", "BOGO", "LOW IQ", "PAKA-UWAW", "TUGA2X", "DILI NA MAKADAUG SA MISS WORLD", "OMG! WHY DID SHE WIN?", "GI-MAFIA NA", "WHAT WERE THE JUDGES THINKING?"... those are still within the boundaries of "crab mentality"...that's insulting, undermining, or second guessing the success of a fellow Filipino. It runs smack into the definition of crab mentality...

and how do we contrast crabbing to unified, long-term, constructive mentality?

phrases like "she won? good for her", "she's lucky and we hope she gets luckier", "fight stage-fright", "improve more", "needs speech & grammar lessons", "more room for improvement", "we support u", "go, go, go!!!", "don't give up", etc...

beauty pageants, most especially in my Philippines, have been idiotised in way.

commenting and criticising the result of the pageant is NOT crab mentality. It is knowing what that pageant is supposed to represent.

another excuse is saying, "It's okay because the Ms. World pageant will not have a Q & A portion anyway." <--- this is the mentality I don't want to practice. This is setting oneself up for Mediocrity. Sige lang madala rana. Ok nana. Bahala na basta gwapa lang, mao ranay importante.

So I'm bashing the entire organization and the judges who let her win -- for the disposition and twisted mentality that let her win.
"JUST A WOMAN? Oh honey no!

I am awesome with a splash of bitch and a dash of wonderful.
