So long Thibs. I guess if Thibs wanted total control its not happening in LALA land.

As for me, I wouldnt mind Thibs as president and head coach with Mitch as GM.

ang role ni jeanie buss nga tag-iya sa franchise is only VP, ang iyang igsoon si jim is also vp for basketball orperations. lahi man gud ang structure sa lakers bro. siguro kung sa lakers na... siya pud ang GM... which is trabaho ni mitch. i don't think the lakers should fire mitch kupchak. he's only following orders. ang style sa lakers is to swing for the fences every off-season. mao nang wala sila nikuha ug mga 2nd tier free agents, kay dili sila gusto magapos sa bad contract and winning only 40 games... a mediocre team.

role players na sila bro... ang 2nd tier free agents kay mga all star pero dili franchise players. dako ug chance ma-overpay, parehas ni rudy gay sa una... star player siya, pero overpaid. daghan mga star players sa NBA nga dili franchise players.

Last time I checked Roy Hibbert was a former 2 time All Star and he was an All star the year before he was acquired(definitely 2nd tier if we base it on your standards), Lou was a former sixth man of the year awardee(arguably 2nd tier). For me Prime Lou Williams is nothing less or more than prime Rudy Gay. I disagree with Rudy Gay, for me he was never a star, he just looks like a star cause he shoots a lot but didnt really helped his team in the grand scheme of things.

I agree though that Bass and Young are role players.

In the end, its all subjective really. We all think and assess NBA players differently.

The point is,I just call it for what it is.The Lakers management suck right now and its not subjective. There is a clear and quantifiable evidence that they suck.

If they dont make any changes to the status quo, Im afraid they will continue to suck.

yup, roy was an all star 3- 4 years ago... he has not been performing to that level ever since... meaning, kung ingnon nato nga starter nalang siya, dili naman siya all star... unsa naman lang tawag nimo sa player nga starter, pero wala gisaligan as the main guy... and plays a specific role on the team...

but anyway... lou williams is a 6th man... he was not the main guy in toronto... his role was to come off the bench and score points. pero dili siya ang gisaligan sa team for main production. 6th men players are role players basically...

naay mga players sa NBA nga go to guy... and despite go to guy sila, dili sila ingon ana ka-talented parehas ni lebron, curry, durant, westbrook nga MVP level ang dula.

para nako ang tier one players are those who play at an MVP level...

para lang nako, MVP level players deserves to get the max contract... ang uban makakuha nalang ug max, tungod sa value nga ilang mahatag sa team.

He was actually an All star the year before LA acquired him. So for me they still acquired an All Star even if he is basically a benchwarmer this year. So LA acquired a tier 2(according to your standards) talent even though he regressed to being a bench warmer.

Dont get me wrong,I totally understand your point of view. Positions and labels make it easier for the fans to relate to the game. I just dont believe in putting labels like Role Player,Star,SuperStar on players just as I dont like the terms 1,2,3,4,5 anymore. I also dont use the terms tier 1,2 or 3 free agents.

The NBA is changing. Just because someone fits the current perception of a role player, that doesn’t mean he’s not a star or contributing a lot of value to his team. If a player has an elite skill (or skills), I simply credit him for them and he can be a role player and a star at the same time.

Anyway, that's just my opinion. Lets just agree to disagree then.

Still, the fact remains. L.A. sucks as of the moment. Its undeniable. The roster is mediocre, the coach is mediocre,We have a pick that we are not sure we will get, the culture of winning and accountability is gone and the management is dismal and it looks like its gonna continue to be dismal.
