The second coming of Christ is said to be like a thief in the night, it strikes when least expected.
So don't let yourselves be fooled with conspiracy theories.

OT: i heard a sermon wherein a priest said that, they too, have been affected by the economic crisis nowadays. he said that the donations that are coming in are at an ultimate low. i wasn't surprised to hear this. what troubled me was his way of delivering it to the people. he did it in a calm, very businessman-like manner that ignites the fury in me. after that day, i stopped giving money.

some istoryans here are right when they said that not only in the church should we give something to help. what have the priests done to help in return? pray? pray harder? i think they're gonna have to do something better than that.

Yes I agree that not only in church that you could offer help. I knew a guy who visits the home for the aged and give stuffs and care at that institution. If one can do that, why not? If only people will do that, the earth will be like a paradise. But, some people including me, would rather give monetary donations because it is very convenient compared to visiting orphanages, hospitals, prisons and home for the aged. I haven't done visitations yet, the guy said that you have to be ready for that kind of charity work since it will leave a lasting impression on you and you might not be able to handle it.

i'm having doubts with that guy you know. did he visit the home of the aged just to have a lasting impression? did he do all those charitable works just to have a lasting impression? doing something for personal gain won't work sir. the sponsoring thoughts behind the intentions are what matters.

We should not judge people based on what they do and what are their motives.
We should focus on what we do and what are our motives.
    Focus on yourself.
You will be more effective that way.

    One time I gave a man P20.00
Another guy came to me with a non-happy face.
    Imo gitagaan?
Mag-inom na sad to buntag sayo pa lang.

I did not know the guy is a drunkard.
I just gave because I felt he has no money.
I don't know what he will do with it.
I just hope to ease him up a little with what little I got.

It is like suddenly giving becomes a bad thing.
We should give no matter what.
May be we gave the wrong person the wrong help.
It is the thought that counts.
As long as you don't expect something in return.

All I know is that he went there to help and nothing more. Also, he is a regular visitor at that institution, gave stuffs and care for the elderly. If what he did gave him something in return which changed his life for the better, then what is their to doubt about his motive? And I don't think the guy is planning to run for Mayor and using that activity as his campaign strategy. And I don't think giving stuffs and care for the elderly will gain you material wealth, its even considered a hassle to average people like me. Maybe we should try it sometimes bro, who knows, we might also feel what he had felt and changed our lives for the better.
