Last one guys....this is how screwed up it is out there. One minute you're cleared, the next you're getting deported. Money talks, but I decided to walk. From 2000-2004, I had to deal with this. It wasn't worth it. See for yourself.

I can't even comprehend why Mick Pennisi was included in the recent FIBA Asia - for his 3pt shooting?! they had Ranidel De Ocampo or KG Canaleta who are more athletic, can play multiple positions and are suited to play the international game...oh boy somebody "bigtime" must be behind him...hehe

    this scenario also intrigued me...

Stephen Antonio played for MBA while brother Will Antonio played for Coke, how come Will got off the hook regarding the Fil-Am case and his brother didn't?

Yeah, I don't understand it! Oh well, life goes on. Yeah, money talks. Can't beat that. Any questions you want to ask me?

It just hurt because I am half Filipino and I was getting accused by "some" of the Filipino people of being a fake-Am. NO, I didn't leave Alaska because of some DOPE scandal. If that was the case, Red Bull would've never signed me. That is a HUGE lie. I left because I was getting the run around with Alaska. They weren't up front with me, so I wanted to leave. When I was on Red Bull we beat Alaska every time, so that felt REAL good!

I haven't been back since I left in Nov. 04'. I miss playing and I'm in the best shape of my life because I lift everyday, but do I want to bring my kids back to a country that doesn't want me? My kids have Filipino blood in them! People ask when my boys get older, are they going to play in the Philippines...my answer, No! Just being honest and that's something people can't do out there. There are guys playing who DON'T have an ounce of Filipino blood in their veins, but they're playing right?

As for me, I got re-married. I live in California. I'm a Recreational Specialist for the City of Monterey and I'm the head assistant coach at a local high school for the varsity basketball team. My life has done a 360.

When I was at the DOJ before I left, they asked me about everything that was going on. I told them, "I didn't need 20 lawyers to speak for me, I didn't need 20 documents to prove who and what I am....They could've asked me anything they wanted." They made me look like a liar at a Senate hearing when THEY said, I TOLD them my mom was born in the Philippines. Before I entered the country, THEY had my mom's birth certificate. It says she was BORN IN HAWAII! I have nothing to hide. My last statement was, "me leaving is a sign from the Lord saying there were bigger and better things for me in the states." They gave me 3 days to pack and leave the country, so I flew back with both of my boys and we've been doing great!! J.O

Yes. This will be my 3rd year as an assistant coach. It's fun working with younger kids. I just take what I learned playing pro ball and I'm giving it back to the youth. I just want to help kids in anyway I can. Out of all the coaches in the Philippines, Tim Cone was my favorite. He knows a lot about the game. As great of a coach he was/is, he didn't control the team. The people above him did and that's what sucked about everything. The year we won the invitational conference in 03'...they split all of us up. We were only together for 6 months, but because we had 10 Fil-Am's, the owner couldn't take the heat, so he just got rid of all of us.

Yah that's 1 thing i've noticed from alaska's management, they seem to be in control on who they want in or out of the team... they had a group of players (either through draft/trade/free agencies) that could compete and give them championship/s but they didn't lasted....that's ironic since u look at TNT/Mobiline where Asi plays, it's also stacked w/ players who can be starters in other teams yet they can't win a championship.

Yup. The coach can only do so much. It's the people above calling the shots. A lot of US didn't fit the Alaska IMAGE. They want this wholesome image, but in the states, it doesn't matter what you look like. If you can play the game, that's all you needed. How many championships has TNT/w Asi won? I believe one. Quote me if I'm wrong. Any other questions you want to ask me, while I'm here? I get off in 20 minutes and I won't be back until Monday.
