    BASIC POMODORO SAUCE
    (for those who like to make it from scratch)

    Makes 2 1/2 cups Takes 30 minutes

    1/4 cup olive oil
    2 cloves garlic
    1 medium onion chopped
    1 large can crushed tomatoes

    Saute garlic and onions. Add in tomatoes and simmer for 20-30 minutes under low flame and set aside.

    You may use clams instead of mussels. Choose the smallest, sweetest clams for your sauce.
    Takes 35 to 40 minutes. Makes 1 serving

    2 tbsp olive oil
    200 grams cooked pasta
    4 to 5 pieces mussels
    1 medium size cleaned squid, without head
    4 to 5 pcs peeled shrimp without head
    2 to 3 garlic cloves, chopped
    1 ladle pomodoro sauce
    salt and pepper to taste

    1. Heat olive oil in a large saucepan and saute garlic for 2 mins.
    2. Add the rest of the ingredients and simmer for another 3 mins.
    3. Season with salt and pepper
    4. Mix in cooked pasta and garnish with italian flat leaf parsley. Serve.

    @Gwynhuever: pareho diay ta! Thanks for starting this thread, I got to try some of the stuff posted here...I like cooking pasta because it's something you can whip up in a short amount of time... I usually make sauces in large batches (when I have time) and then freeze whatever is left over in small containers. So when I'm craving for pasta, all I have to do is cook the noodles and reheat the sauce...

    Here's a simple recipe of a pasta dish I ate this lunch...

    Garlic Shrimp Linguine
    Ready in 30 min SERVES 8

    INGREDIENTS
    1 pound uncooked linguine
    1 tablespoon butter
    3 tablespoons white wine (I like using dry white wine, rather than the sweet variety)
    2 teaspoons grated Parmesan cheese
    3 cloves garlic, minced
    1 teaspoon chopped fresh parsley
    1/2 teaspoon dried hot red-pepper flakes
    salt and pepper to taste
    1 pound medium shrimp, peeled and deveined


    DIRECTIONS
    Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain.
    In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium low heat; add wine, cheese, garlic, parsley, chili flakes and salt and pepper to taste. Simmer over low heat for 3 to 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
    Increase heat to medium high and add shrimp to skillet; cook for about 3 to 4 minutes or until shrimp begins to turn pink. Do not overcook.
    Divide pasta into portions and spoon sauce on top; garnish with Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley, if desired.

    My friends like their pasta smothered in Mozzarella cheese rather than Parmesan, so you can try that too...

    wow, thanks so much for those who shared recipes.

    i love spaghetti, spaghetti in pesto sauce and carbonara!!! especially carbonara.

    Can somebody out there pm me or post a recipe for BAKED ZITTI? A simple and easy one pls... I love baked zitti and I would like to make one myself. Im not an experienced cook but I think I understand a thing or two about pots and pans. hehehe
