Minnesota's Marko Jaric was "overachieving" after dating supermodel

Antoine Walker joked that Minnesota Timberwolves teammate Marko Jaric was "overachieving."

The reference was not to the guard's recent hot shooting, but that the native of Serbia is dating Brazilian supermodel Adriana Lima.

The romance certainly hasn't hurt Jaric's play. He scored 21 points and the Timberwolves protected a big lead for a change to get their second victory of the season, 103-94 over the New Orleans Hornets on Monday night.

Having scored over 20 points in two straight games, Jaric smiled when told teammates had insinuated that his relationship with Lima had been a source of inspiration.

"Maybe that's the thing, I don't know," Jaric said. "They can joke for now. We won, so that's fine."

Minnesota has seen a more promising trend in the play of Jaric, who has scored in double figures in three straight games.

"I just feel confident," said Jaric, now in his sixth season. "I see the team needs me, Coach feels confidence in me, and I just try to us my opportunity."

Jaric had had 12 points in the half, which he ended with a 3-pointer that gave Minnesota a 58-37 lead.

The Lakers scored a total of 46 points in the fourth quarter, almost doubling the Nuggets' 24. The Lakers bench also outscored the Nuggets bench, 63-29.

Two of the Lakers players had career-highs, Sasha Vujacic had 22 and Luke Walton had 14.

The catch? The Lakers totally outplayed the Nuggets in the fourth quarter and didn't even got a single help from Bryant down the stretch. Bryant was on the bench the whole 12 minutes of the fourth quarter.

**Carmelo Anthony was ejected from the game after committing a flagrant foul on Vujacic hard 2ith 6:18 left in the game. When told that Anthony accused him on flopping during the play, Vujacic replied, "I think I've got to give him a DVD of European soccer. Then he can really see flops,''. On Anthony's part, he said that it was unintentional, thus, there's no need to overreact.

Luke Walton is not really a noted scorer, siguro mas dako pa ug chance nga maka career high siya ug 10 or 15 assists in a game rather than scoring 30++ points. Plus the presence of Kobe Bryant hurts.
