SWS: Fewer Pinoys think they're poor

MANILA, Philippines - Self-rated poverty in the Philippines dipped in the last three months, with 9.5 million Filipino families saying they are poor, according to the latest Social Weather Stations survey.

The survey, first published in BusinessWorld, showed that self-rated poverty dropped from 51% or an estimated 10.3 million families in May to 47% or 9.5 million families in August.

The survey conducted last August 24-27 used face-to-face interviews of 1,200 adults nationwide. The error margins used were ±3% for national and ±6% for area percentages.

In a statement, Secretary Ricky Carandang of the Presidential Communications Development and Strategic Planning Office (PCDSPO) welcomed the results of the latest SWS survey.

"We have worked for inclusive growth since the start of this administration. This may be a sign that our efforts are being felt but these self rated poverty figures tend to be volatile at times. We must persist in our efforts for us to see a sustained reduction in poverty. Nevertheless this is a good sign," he said.

The survey also showed that fewer families claimed to be poor in terms of food, with 35% or an estimated 7.2 million families saying they are food-poor.

SWS said the latest food poverty rate is the lowest since March 2010’s record low of 31%.

Agree or disagree, its up to you.

what do you mean by me hating one person? Do you mean the president? Coz i dont.. i don't know where you got that idea.
I like what he has done with regards to corruption. Downgrading our country's achievement? i don't think i did..

I believe we can have a strong economy which the people can really FEEL soon but i don't buy it when they say that it is happening today.

naa koy e share nimo. Example rani ha.
