i think its not NANALAW, but di lang gusto ug GUBOT ang proponents sa Con Ass

anyways, its not final yet and anything can happen ...

we might still have an election this coming may 2007, if we do something about it and not let a handfull of people dictate our future

^^ I don't think the May elections in 2007 will not push through. In fact, some candidates are very much busy making themselves available in press so as to give themselves an edge comes May 2007.

Anyway, our legislators are on their way discussing another mode of amending the constitution which I think would appease all sectors: constitutional convention. Although this process is a bit tedious than the other two, and more costly at that, we have to admit that we really need to amend the outdated provisions of the constitution.

THE SUPREME Court has dismissed a second motion for reconsideration of its ruling against a people's initiative to amend the 1987 Constitution.

In its first en banc resolution under Chief Justice Reynato S. Puno, the high court ruled that a second motion for reconsideration was a prohibited pleading under Section 2, Rule 52 in relation to Section 2, Rule 56 of the 1997 Rules of Civil Procedure, as amended.

"No further pleadings on the case will be entertained," the high court said.

Likewise, the High Court said that the motion was a mere rehash of Sigaw ng Bayan (People’s Cry) and Union of Local Authority of the Philippines' (ULAP) first motion for reconsideration, which the Court had denied with finality on Nov. 21, 2006.
