A communism/socialist country is where everyone is equal and a communist country with a dictator is not really a communist country. North Korea, China, Stalinist USSR, Viet Nam, etc. are not really communist countries. The country that was closest to reaching 100% communism is Cuba but capitalist and corporatist USA is always threatening them. Also, the USSR before Stalin was also close to 100% real communism...

Anyways, we're not a communist country. We are a bureaucratic-authoritarian kleptocracy and dictatorship with theocracy. I mean seriously only the rich people call the country a 'democracy' because the 'democracy' is only limited and available to them...Therefore, the Philippines is a constitutional republic with a democratic government.

"Man will always be man. There is no new man. We tried so hard to create a society that was equal, where there'd be nothing to envy your neighbor. But there's always something to envy. A smile... a friendship. Something you don't have and want to appropriate. In this world- even a Soviet one- there will always be rich and poor. Rich in gifts... poor in gifts. Rich in love... poor in love."
    -From Enemy at the Gates

Communism will never work simply because it goes against human nature.

It is a common drive among most men to long for a place called utopia(We were made to live in the Garden of Eden), history shows that governments sells the utopian dream to the masses but in reality, they gave them a hellish nightmare.

Our country should be a republic! We should have in-alienable rights to protect minority rights. Two wolves and a sheep voting what's for dinner? Ain't that democracy?

in every society there is always a conflict. each form of society has two side which contributes how each society function and work. more importantly, the conflict of each class is defined by how the resources are produced and distributed.

an idea regarding stages of society

    1. Primitive Communal - the conflict in this form of society is between man and nature in which man is at the mercy of nature. there are gatherers and hunters and they both work together to live in a hostile nature which of course with its technology has no way of mastering or subduing nature. one important point is that resources are distributed to each member according to each need if not equally. and also private property is not yet well established in this time. when i said private property it doesn't mean owning of shirts and pants but the privately owning of tools for production/gathering of resources.

    2. slavery - as time passed by neighboring communities goes to war with each other to obtain resources and the result of this war is using the people of the beaten communities as slaves. at this time also, agriculture are already being discovered however the main conflict in the society is between the slaves and its masters. some individual has gain private ownership of tools for producing goods and thus has the command on how the society works and function. of course there are lower class in this society but like i said the main conflict in this society is between slaves and its masters. slaves are abundant and they are in most cases producing the resources for the community. the more slaves you have the richer you are.

    3. feudal - moving forward, through constant wars some people have become rich and powerful and began to claimed land as their own. they have become feudal lords. during this time agriculture has matured and is become the driving force of the society. as expected the feudal lords has influence on how things work in their society because they have the lands. this time slaves and lower class sometimes work hand in hand to till the land. so at this point the conflict is not between slaves and its masters anymore although there are still slaves but it is between feudal lords and the farmers.

    4. capitalist - moving forward again, industrialization is progressing and during this time the driving force of the economy of the society is trading products. in this form of society it is divided by the working class and the capitalist class. working class help produce the products to trade and sell while the capitalist class provides the capital. we have to take note that in this society although the working class is abundant compared to the capitalist class however the capitalist is the one to dictate how the distribution of resources are shared, meaning the working class has less and the capitalist who only provided the capital have more, way more. in capitalist society only a few has the private ownership of the tools for production giving them influence.

    5. socialist - the conflict is pretty much the same however this time the working class dictates the distribution of resources. of course the capitalist still has it easy on him because in most cases he doesn't have to work but this time the working class will have more compared to the capitalist. it will come to this situation because workers will revolt demanding for social justice as capitalist will try to drain and exploit the working class.

    6. communist - after eons and once all country have become a true socialist country then the transforming of the world into communism begins. as the song goes by john Lennon, what if there is no religion, there is no country... it is important that all country will be in socialist form first before humanity can begin its transition to communism. in this society it goes back to the same conflict that the primitive communal had, man and nature however this time we had the technology and knowledge to work with nature harmoniously.

so to answer are we better off as a communist, nope. we can never achieve communism if we do it alone. communism is a society in which humanity has achieve a higher consciousness than what we have today. we may attempt to become a socialist but we will surely fail because we are surrounded by capitalist and semi-feudal country and most of our resources are imported from this countries. of course those who have influence in the capitalist nations (capitalist) will not support socialist country because this will threaten their status. remember in socialism the working class has more compared to the capitalist.

the interesting question is, with the path humanity is walking today... will we reach communism or we will become extinct before we can even have a true socialist country? i really think we are at the 11 hour of our civilization. specially with the issue of global warming and how giant capitalist neglects the issue about global warming because all they are focus into are making more profit and not considering the long term consequences that the future generation maybe facing. but of course those few who are greedy never think of this but only the present and i believe they are thinking right now, the hell with the future as long as i am making more money. so it boils down to us and the rest of us who are thinking about the future generations, what are we going to do? what are you going to do? i guess most of us will just say, the hell with the future what is important is now and so be it.
