Thread: L.A. Lakers

    musta mga ka-lakers fans?

looks like our team is bound for another disappointing season. management failed to fix and upgrade significant holes and positions in our roster, they haven't done anything this offseason that could have propelled this team to become a playoff contender at least for the next season.

the acquisition of lin provides a glare of hope though for the laker's future (with multiple draft picks in the deal). i would love to see lakers doing more in acquiring future picks to pile up more assets and make a big splash in 2015 or 2016. the latter year has durant and westbrook as free agents, make a run for durant and use our future draft picks to pair him with another star. kobe's contract will end in 2 years so i believe that 2016 is the best year for the lakers to reload and contend.

Yup , not the case if Doc were managing things , but this is where we are … I hope they turn a disappointing year into a very fruitful future down the road.

star players nowadays don't want to play with draft picks, they want to play for good teammates. perhaps they can convert those draft picks in to rising players. especially from teams who wants to rebuild. then come 2015 or 2016, star players might want to player with these rising stars.

hopefully sir KE-25. addtionally, this is the best time to develop our draft picks (clarkson and randle).

yep. future draft picks are equally as important and valuable. it will provide the team an asset to package in a deal. for example, we can package future draft picks in a trade that may involve one of the veterans like nash (nobody wants to get involved in a trade with nash without future draft picks). we can also package future draft picks along with an established player in acquiring a better talent.

clarkson looks like a TOTAL steal based on his performance in summer league. he's a gamer. cash well spent on getting him during the draft.

Hoping we can still get a solid small forward and a quality to solid center, Randle will be tested immediately in the PF position to fill the spot of Pau Gasol.

Certainly , I love the energy and pin point accuracy of Clarkson , as for Randle , personally thought he would give better numbers in the last 2 summer league games , all in good time I guess. Is it just me but noticed Randle isn't as fluid as highlights shown during college days and practice rookie run? Or Cameras aren't close enough ...

I agree , kuang pa ... lets give him a little more time and truly see if we got a gem in Randle
