Greg Oden will mis the entire 2007-08 season after undergoing an operation for his injury. Oden is expected to be on crutches for about 8 weeks and it will take about 6 to 12 months for the injury to fully recover.
List of number 1 picks who had injuries during their rookie season:
Patrick Ewing (1985-86) -- Ewing missed the final 32 games of his rookie season due to knee injury
Danny Manning (1988-89) -- Manning tore his ACL in early January of his rookie season and didn't return for the rest of the season
Pervis Ellison (1989-90) -- Started the season in the injured list after some bone spurs were removed from his right foot and ankle and returned for the team's last 34 games for the season
Kenyon Martin (2000-01) -- Missed the final 12 games during his rookie season after breaking the same leg he did in college
Kwame Brown (2001-02) -- Played only a total of 57 games during his rookie season mixing injuries with DNP-CDs
Andrea Bargnani (2006-07) -- Appendicitis sidelined the Italian star from March to April during his rookie season
Bargnani had the best injury.
ka toinks, appendicitis ray naka down ni Bargnani..hahaha..goodbye ROY for Oden
amawa ana uy #1 nya injured ka kansi
salamat dili ang Bostin Celtics maoy first pick! heheehe!
sorry na lang, better luck sa iya sophomore year si Oden
Hehe. Murag wa man gihapon ni epekto except for the fact that Ray Allen might not have ended up in Boston. If ever Boston ended up number one, they'll probably pick either Greg Oden or Kevin Durant and with Minnesota letting KG go, the Celtics will still end up with Garnett (after all, who would pass on Garnett).salamat dili ang Bostin Celtics maoy first pick! heheehe!
Possible scenario if Boston ended up with the number 1 pick:
1.) With the presence of Al Jefferson, the Celtics will most likely pass Greg Oden and take Kevin Durant. Boston sent Jefferson to Minnesota for Garnett and Boston's line-up could have been Garnett + Pierce + Durant.
2.) If ever they took Oden to add additional big man to back-up Jefferson which is very unlikely because of the unbalance in the line-up. Their current line-up could've been Garnett + Oden + Pierce. Boston badly needs a good shooting guard for this one.
