I truly believe on former US President Theodore Roosevelt's way of diplomacy that is
'' Speak softly and carry a big stick'' for in dealing with other countries one should give
substance on your countries interests while on the negotiating table. What you say
would be very audible if they are aware that you had the means to bash them destructively.

We should know that as always each country had its own interest in benefit of their people,
and of course we have ours as well, we should defend ours otherwise we would make our
country and our people a captive of their needs, we should have a firm resolve to protect
what we are and what we have.

Now they know that we could use the big stick if we see deem required,
but I hope we could get one someday, so that in their eyes we would be a formidable
opponent if placed in antagony.

The problem here is that this is starting to get out of hand and there are reports, either confirmed or unconfirmed that our kababayans are being targeted and harassed in Taiwan.

Nindot man unta mu sukol, but first we must have the means to do so. Although the possibility of a shooting war is remote, the US is highly unlikely to allow it. It would only be to China's advantage.

What I see here is that our diplomacy is very lacking, in a span of three years, we managed to antagonize most of our neighbors... Malaysia due to the Lahad-Datu incident, Cambodia was not impressed by our presidents manners during the ASEAN meeting, Indonesia is wary because our president avoided most of the functions during last years ASEAN summit. In APEC at Vladivostok, we misrepresented Singapore's foreign policy positions.. We also escalated our spat with China without close consultations with our ASEAN partners... Diplomacy is supposedly our primary tool for now in dealing with UN-neighborly neighbors... We could do better...

Ok by your definition of what a Filipino is, how does that make the posters with opposing views as yours less Filipino. It is their opinion that the shooting is a mistake and will only anger our neighbors and thus put the lives and safety of our yes, kababayan, kapwa pinoy OFWs at risk in Taiwan.
