im an architect in Jeddah,KSA im working for 3 years already.the climate is moderately hot but its the closiest in Phils. among the middle east countries. very strick no alcohol, no entertainments but the price for accomodation and food is cheap compared to UAE.In other words u can save more. Saudi is the most stable middle east country and construction here will go on and on for many years. income is high depending on the company.average basic income for engr. here is 5k riyal wd free accommodation and transpo allowance equivalent to 35% of ur basic salary. Now income is 7K riyal plus 2450 riyal as accomodation and transpo allowance but i just rented room for 500 riyal at walking distance at the office.

Tinuod dako sweldo pero and kamingaw dako sab. we are highly paid in this company because we are using Slipform system in constructing structures. less manpower more with jacklifting machines to form reinforced concrete walls, imagine this system can built 20 storey high shell vertical structure within 22 days. Only few countries used this system, like US,England,Canada,UAE,Qatar,etc...Mingaw kaayo diri, but im always thinking of the future of my Kids. i hope someday my sacrifices here will pay. i believe that the best way to go abroad is where u can bring ur family, but middle east is not the place, its so hot and we cant enjoy family party gathering. Canada and Australia is the best. US is still on has huge debt that their economy is unstable. Anyway i see Saudi as a stepping stone rather than stumbling block.
