"In the statement, TV5 also questioned the authority of MTRCB to hear the alleged child abuse case. The TV5 legal team stressed that the MTRCB has no jurisdiction on the subject matter because "child abuse" is criminal in nature and should be heard by competent courts.

TV5 also stressed that similar dance numbers like that of Jan-Jan were allowed to air in the rival network."

More firms pull out ads from 'Willing Willie'

MANILA, Philippines - Unilever Philippines said on Friday it will temporarily pull out all its advertisements from all reality and game shows on local TV.

Two other companies, meanwhile, announced it would pull out their ads from the variety show "Willing Willie."

In a statement, Chito Macapagal, Unilever's vice president for external communications, said the temporary suspension will take effect starting April 11 in all reality-based live game shows.

Aside from this, the company will "actively seek for PANA's (Philippine Association of National Advertisers) involvement and leadership to help the networks develop a strict and consistent self-regulatory framework. We expect this to be in place in no later than one month."

Meanwhile, Nutri-Asia, the maker of UFC food products, said that it is "suspending" its ad placements and promotional segments from "Willie Willie."

"Nutri-Asia arrived at this decision after extensive internal discussions and a thorough assessment of the issue and the pulse of the general public and the markets we serve. After deliberations, the Company has decided that it should recognize the prevailing market sentiment and preference as it has always done," the company said in a statement.

The company, however, stressed that its decision was purely "market-based," and not an expression of opinion or judgment on the issue.

Another advertiser, pawnshop chain Cebuana Lhuiller, said it would also pull out its ads from the show effective Monday while resolution regarding the issue is pending.

"While we support programs that give hope to Filipinos here and abroad, we expect our business to promote good values, protect children's rights and exercise prudence in communicating to the general public," the company said in a statement.

The move of the three companies was triggered by an incident on TV5's show "Willing Willie" where a 6-year-old boy performed what some quarters called was lewd dance in exchange for cash.

Unilever added it viewed the incident as "serious," saying it has demanded from networks assurances that similar incidents would not happen again.

Unilever added that its suspension will stay until tighter regulations are implemented.

"This measure will be in place until we observe stricter and objective self-regulatory guidelines across networks and proper enforcement by the relevant government agencies of existing content regulations," the company said.

TV5 drew flak from various sectors, including the Catholic Church, and prompted government to conduct an investigation.

The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) is currently investigating the issue.

On Thursday, Procter & Gamble (P&G) Philippines, another multinational company, suspended ads on the said show. Other companies that have suspended advertising from the show are Jollibee (Mang Inasal), Del Monte, and CDO.

am i a street kid for you to ask the question? haha. nakikita mo ba mga pulubi sa daan kung ano kinakain? can you answer me? ill wait for your answer. for the record - i am not a street kid but if ever i will be given a left over food yes i will take it, even if its sobra if i know its clean just like BH (Bring Home), im NOT as hypocrite as you. u think pag sobra marumi, masama? my goodness, what kind of thinking is that? yes those people are truly strangers but their mission or the way they help those people in need is coming from their heart, nothing more geniunely divine if you love your neighbor. bat ang hirap mo ipa intindi?

kanang hatag dili na tinuod na tabang. naa na sa bible "give him a fish, he can eat fish today but teach him how to fish and he can eat fish forever".

tell that to DSWD and not to Willie or any programs on TV. bakit si Willie? hahahaha, wala ba tayung gobyerno to address those issues? sagutin mo ha... and meron missionaries or organization sa Bantayan Island based on gatsby's link, sali ka ha instead of looking at mistakes of others. don't tell me even sa video u will say walang ganun sa Bantayan Island.. i dont know if bulag ka or nag bubulagbulagan. though i like your points coz ur concerned with kay jan-jan but sa mga replies mo , i might go with gatsby nalang.

you know the Bible? you know also that this verse is in the Bible - Love your neighbor as you love yourself (Matthew 22:39)? if you are helping your neighbor na malinis, bukal sa kalooban, at walang masamang intention, does it consider helping? may level level ba nalagay sa Bibliya na dapat hindi sobra itulong mo sa mga mahihirap? intyendes girl? haha... if not, i wont reply to you na, makalilibog ka girl. haha. u really have a twisted mind, GRABE to the highest level. haha.

    Got this from twitter:

    HecklerForever - Professional Heckler

- Willie Revillame

"Agot Isidro, wala ka pang anak hinuhusgahan mo na ako." - Willie Revillame

Willie: "Kayo ba ang nag-donate ng isang milyon sa Bantay Bata?"

Willie: Dahil ba sinuportahan ko si Sen. Manny Villar? i'll stick with him. Dahil orange ba ang kulay ko kaya pinag-iinitan nyo ako?

Willie Revillame: "Starting Monday hanggang Holy week, pag-iisipan ko muna kung babalik ako sa industriyang ito."

Questioning someone else's sexual preference? Questioning others if they gave money to certain foundation? Damn!

He's sure an As$hole. Is he high or what? He really hasn't move on yet. And he's talking as if he's God or something. He's not the only one helping out the poor people but he thinks of himself higher than the rest. Most stars like Jim Paredez, Diether Ocampo and Joey De Leon have their own ways of helping without the need to publicize it. Now, look who's talking? He won't even apologize.Such an airhead.Karma's smiling at him now.

And hey, mind you people. The team who were trying to call jan-jan's family as reported was from GMA. Also, Unilever pulled out their ads from all the live shows airing, no networks exempted until further notice. Eat Bulaga and Showtime are affected.

    Now happy?
