after more than a year of hiatus, im trying my luck again with a planted tank
i have relocated after more than 15 years in cebu and i was able to bring a few strands of japanese hair grass from zen aquatics and also i have a stash of anubias petite which i got from singapore and the czech visitor. the anubias petite will be used in another set up. i expect to get mts here.
the closest shop is more than an hour away and with the relocation spending for a planted tank is still a no-no so i salvaged a 10x12x14 tank and japanese substrate which my brother abandoned.


this is after a week of immersed set up. i used cling wrap to keep moisture and co2 via diy. i am not sure if co2 has helped but i am seeing a lot of runners already. i am not satisfied with the rock arrangement yet.

fortunately, the rocks did not liquefy when sprayed or even underwater so these are really rocks. i just don't know what kind of rock.

Leroi, your rock is a quartz, yes its a mineral stone. Asa man ka sa Davao ron nga medyo layo man diay ka sa city kay 1 hour ride pa.

Ang akoa wala naman to nga system. Basically, i was using two 1.5L coke bottles joined the two hoses using a Y connector then output is put inside the intake of a smal RESUN submersible pump.. then that's it. Worked like a charm for more than 2 years.

same ra ta sir DIY system ra ako paagi ky lingaw man gud ang DIY instead of ready made na.. mas daghan ka makat-onan sa DIY.. last resort na nko ang ready made system kng matagbaw nko.

by the way sir asa ta kapalit og submersible pump nga 3watts? did2 ko sa riverfront and pipers og other pet store wla mn..

i have seen lfs selling plants but spending is still not a priority for now.
how i wish i could ship plants from cebu.

Panabo City is growing and it has a gym used by PBA which could not be found in Davao. Gaisano, NCCC and some other establishments are sprouting there unlike the time I stayed there specially in the rebel infested area of Malativas. Naa may petshop nga namaligya ug aquatic plants bay didto duol sa UM Bolton. Suroya lang didto kay daghan baya petshops ang Davao compared diri sa Cebu. Naa pud ko nabantayan bay nga nagpropagate ug aquatic plants diha sa Carmen.
