perhaps unique-looking items (including clothing, shoes, make-ups, and of course bags) rather than those from high-end brands? Well, for me I would rather keep a trendy bag form Mandarina Duck or Couch than common and overused bag from Gucci. Although I agree that Gucci indeed makes awesome looking ones ever often, they are displayed with famous people that everyone just gets her hands on it way too quickly and become overused.

A white button down shirt- for work and interviews, simple black pumps- good for work and going out, a cute tote bag- for when you have a lot to carry around with you, a comfy pair of jeans- they go with anything and you can where them whenever.

And as far as more creative pieces and accessories go, it depends on what your style is. I personally hardly leave the house without earrings, but it's all up to you and how you want to individualize your outfit.
