in my 2 years+ of keeping LGs, not once did I experience being aggressively bitten by any of my LGs. the only time that I get aggressive bites & nips is when I handle hatchlings less than a week old. that is expected since they are reacting from instinct to protect themselves.

aggressiveness in juveniles and adults can be caused by so many factors. hunger from not being regularly fed enough, not being exposed to the hand that feed/care for it regularly due to infrequent enclosure maintenance can just be among the so many factors than can cause aggression.

well expected gyud na mu-react ang male sa scent sa another male. tuyuun na man gyud nimo ni. expect na gyud na mapaakan ka. but of course, if accidentally nahimo nimo ni while attending to your enclosures...high probability mapaakan gyud ka.

even with snakes, one sure way of getting bitten by your otherwise tame/docile pet snake is when you've just handled any of its feeder item (mice, chicken, etc.)..then without washing your hands, you unknowingly proceeded to get your pet snake from its enclosure. with that scent in your hand...sigurado mapaakan gyud ka.
