I beg to disagree sir, the thin line between hazing and training can be evident when those used for training are done in excessOriginally Posted by brownprose

Thin line? laom naman ni inyong gihisgutan oyz.
The reason I said there was no thin line because - they are basically disparate terms or totally different from each other in form and substance. So Hazing and Training defined whether in latitude or strict standards can not be taken in close relationship/association as "related" terms.Originally Posted by thadzonline
Hazing is not a training. The summation either by law or ordinary parlance, hazing is part of acceptance or initiation rite to a group or organization. Thus a requisite to membership.
Military training presupposes that a cadet has already been accepted and therefore qualified to undergo training. Military training comes AFTER acceptance not BEFORE acceptance. That's why hazing and training is not the same and there exist no thin line between them. Also, military training is a form of skill enhancement (say use of weapons or defense tools) or physical immersion to simulate combat or survival. While hazing is a physical (usually violent) rudiment necessary as a part of a tradition of acceptance by a group or organization such as frats or sors.
What I do agree is that anything excess...hazing, training, drinking, eating have serious repercussions later.
@ Thadz, sensya na ha. I was just confused with your use of "thin line" as an idiom. I am no English expert but it seems like your and my "thin line" are different. My orientation of the use of thin line as an idiom usually is about two related terms where it is is difficult to distinguish between them -- examples of which is when we say "there is a thin line between pyramiding and multilevel marketing." That's why I had to make a clear distinction between hazing and training that there's no thin line between them because both terms are somehow unrelated or different.
diba naa manay mga rules jud about sa hazing nganu man dili mana sundun nila ako lage sa mo falow manjud me
you have a point in a broader scope, and i guess it is in the definition of thin line that we dont agree. because excessive training methods can be considered hazing, which by the way can not only be used as a prerequisite to membership, but even in advancing and promotion in an organization. Hazing in the military context does not happen only to neophytes.Originally Posted by brownprose
But these, Im sure we agree: while in training, some line should be drawn with what is excessive and not, physical violence for violence sake and tradition's sake is definitely not good
