Thread: RELIGION

Tungod sa mga naning na sapawan na to ang very simple and articulate post ni pnoize2k4, one of our mods... ani nga topic.

The decades of the rosary have now been changed to 4. To shed some light on the issue (pun intended) on the 5th mystery - the Eucharist was at full throttle because of the powers of the 4th Lateran Council on 1215 A.D.

Both pontiffs Innocent III and Honorius had a hand in the definition of Transubstantiation and the Adoration of the Host. When the "bull of may" was issued the so-called "unrepentant heretics" were allowed to be tortured as to prevent the spread of "error".

Should we be thankful otherwise we will be "Muslim" or "heathen" without those things being done by the RCC a long time ago?Â* As Meganda emphasizes, the practice of heterodoxy or being "heathen" as Dacs calls it are one and the same.

But hopefully we're past this now...

If you read all the posts, you can see nga lahi lahi ta ug punto.
    1. Dacs and Houndedbyheaven, asserts the supremacy of the Catholic church and its tradition.
    2. Obese Bo Ricardo, is pointing that RCC could not be the true Church as mentioned in the Bible
    3. Meganda and me, stresses the importance of salvation through faith, even with the eternal security issue.
    4. Richard and n'gel questioned the superficiality of religion although they're opposite each other.
    5. Mr.Briddle, and s.n.m.p. started as spectators though throwing punches at non-catholics and then researching na pud on their own, defending the doctrines and practices of the Catholic Church.

Even from the start, lisud gyud kon religion na hisgutan.
Unsa kaha no mag meet ta then we will talk things over personally. Not debate anymore but sort of sharing the wins, thoughts, etc., over cups of coffee. I am serious here and the very basic purpose of this meeting is to get acquainted with one another after series of long exchanges of views regarding each faith. what do you think guys?

1.Â* Dacs and Houndedbyheaven, asserts the supremacy of the Catholic church and its tradition.
i am a catholic, but i dnt "assert" the supremacy of the Catholic Church, less wud i care about its traditions/practices. to point, there is no supreme christian church. what shud lie supreme is the faith that the church strengthens. i believe in God. even if im not in the Catholic faith, id still believe so.

2.Â* Obese Bo Ricardo, is pointing that RCC could not be the true Church as mentioned in the Bible
for me, there was no true physical church.... ever.

3.Â* Meganda and me, stresses the importance of salvation through faith, even with the eternal security issue.
    ditto^^^

4.Â* Richard and n'gel questioned the superficiality of religion although they're opposite each other.Â*
this is where richard's simple que and reactions at how traditions affect faith shud imply. a pure, faithful and devout catholic wudn't just do his praying like its another household chore.

5.Â* Mr.Briddle, and s.n.m.p. started as spectators though throwing punches at non-catholics and then researching na pud on their own, defending the doctrines and practices of the Catholic Church.
    interesante...

OT: Like I said people hate my guts when I talk a lot that's why I've had sarcasm in some of my posts in here. Which Obese Bo Ricardo was very quick to call "juvenile quips".

Nakahilom lagi to si Obese when I posted about the Eucharist and the Inquisition. Juvenile quips pa siya diha aysus!!! wa siya kapalag this time.
