that, or you can see factional/partisan politics in action, treating and using legitimate issues as barbs and spears they hurl at each other at their convenience to gain public favor at the expense of its enemies.

this is a game of power, a game of thrones. real-politik, pure and simple.

the challenge to the public is to play the game to its advantage, define its own interest and build (legislate, magistrate, execute) around it, instead of letting other interests do it on its behalf.

the issue of the Hacienda Luisita is an example of this. other examples are Executive Orders for salary increases during Labor Day, and other perfectly timed "publicly favorable" decisions, orders, etc by the courts/government.

thus is how they play. do we know that they are playing? are we aware of the gameplan?

their gameplan ? it's simple to decipher - WHO HOARDS THE BIGGEST MONEY. hahaha

majority of the public doesn't know that they are like marbles being played on the palm.

the first step is to know the game. the next is to play it and play it well. the last is to play it despite the odds, until you win.

the Hacienda Luisita issue is a marble that the farmers are winning. relentless struggle and perseverance is paying off.

i hope i could say the same for other marbles that are being played, and the players playing them.

i saw an interview of one of the farmers, she's old, more like in her 60s and she said that they have been fighting since the time of her GRANDMOTHER. I hope the Supreme Court resolution would be absolute this time. But i'm sensing that after the Arroyo teleserye, the Conjuancos will file an appeal to reverse the decision.

they are expected to, this is after all their bread and butter, their fount of power. when you hit a political/landlord clan on the economic aspect, which incidentally is where their power lies and where it is defined, expect fierce resistance.
