you know what? i wanted to say, "are you serious?" but i clicked some buttons anyway and here's what atheist definition | Dictionary.com says:

it says "disbelieves" .. ok, of course, atheist nga eh... but then "denies" caught my attention. could it be that a person who does believe a god(s) exists but denies it, the way peter denied jesus, is by definition an atheist?

Well, have you experience those that have dreadful experiences? Each person has it's own reason and when people try to pry on their lives and call them "confused" because they stop believing God they start to make FUN on them. Now find that too egotistical.

I didn't make fun of those people. Yeah there are plenty of reasons to go atheist, as well as there are plenty of reasons to go vegetarian. Now my point is, if a person goes veg because well it's cool to be vegan, then isn't that a bit illogical? Sure there are many reasons why people believe this and that: illogical reasons, senseless reasons, intelligent reasons, and no reason at all. Get the point? I didn't make fun of them, btw. You're right, each person has his own reason, but these reasons aren't safe from scrutiny. When you ask someone "why?" you always try to get some logical answer out of them, you don't just accept any answer right? If i follow your argument that people have their own reasons, I wouldn't bother asking rapists why they rape people, because they have reasons and we can't argue with that. you see how twisted that is?? gazillion reasons, few logical ones. I hope you know that there are right reasons and wrong reasons, and yes you can definitely argue with people who are fighting for things for the wrong reasons! you can and you should, in fact.

As I have said, people have their own reasons why they shift to this kind of beliefs. You just can't seem to see it that way. Have you seen people snap? I mean mentally snap? One of my patient is devout christian and when his wife raped and murdered... he stopped and burn his house and and the church that he used to go and pray. You never assume what people think and do... instead, listen. That's the best way you can help.

Yes, I know some people snap, and your point is? You want to blame it on God? OR what? Blame it on religion? I can understand that they lost their wits because of depression, or some really bad thing going on.. The thing is, you can't prove God doesn't exist just because God let it happen, or the gods don't exist because they let it happen. Shit like that happen all the time, it can happen to anyone. People shouldn't waste their time blaming it on god or whatever, or being bitter god wasn't there.

I don't think you entirely read my post. Anyway, I'll you... I AM NOT ATHEIST OR AGNOSTIC. But if you want me to take a stand along with them... I can do that. Here's I think about Christians or any believers of faith... Atheists don't have reasons to argue unless somebody provoked them. I'll tell you what my girl friend told me. All she wanted was that they need acceptance... because every she goes out, neighbor is like going to grab her and mug her senseless. They don't need religious acceptance all they need is as a member of the society. Now, would still hold her for that? I guess not! The possibility here sir is that we commonly attack them with no means of asking their reasons.

The "you" there is general. Ok? Hey nobody said you're atheist. I said "if" so if you're not, why bother? And why do you generalize? Not all atheists are nice, and not all Christians are bad. Also not all theists are Christians. I can easily give you counter examples. I think in this country, Muslims are more discriminated than atheists. I didn't even say that atheists should not be members of the society! what's wrong with you? go attack your neighbors, not me. Did i ever discriminate against atheists? Nope, I only discriminate against twisted logic, so whether you're Christian, nonchristian, pagan, atheist, satanist, Muslim, hindu, buddhist, if you're illogical then you're illogical. If we're talking about logic, your religion doesn't matter to me. I think you're the one who discriminates because you generalize christians and theists as bad people who shove their religion/beliefs on the atheists. Clearly that's not the case...

Well, that's just you sir.. of course you will react accordingly but as I have said... people are different. People have reasons and you obviously don't want to try to understand their need. btw, I am not atheist.

I have similar argument with my friend long time ago and we still don't come to an agreement because we have different ideals. To be honest sir, christians are more verbally loud than atheists. Why? it's the same thing as people in this thread are doing... Count how many of them that are stuck in this thread and are making fun of the atheists? As far as I know, there are 3 atheists and majority of them are theists. Now, who is shoving who?

Again, I am not atheist! and I have to correct you here sir, I am not whining! I am here as a concern citizen and a member of the society living in one planet. and oh, you said humanity should thank her for her deeds... what about you? Aren't you going to say thanks for her deeds as well? You are human, I suppose.

And again, i didn't say it's you. "You" is general, it goes out to other people. If you're atheist, you're atheist. If you're not, you're not! Simple as that!
