    OH REALLY NOW?!Â* care to explain?Â* do you know what an onerous contract is?Â*basically it is a ONE WAY contract and regardless if you signed a contract and it supersedes our constitution, that contract WILL NOT STAND in any judicial court.

    That policy of a call center is pang GULPI DE GULAT lang and unfortunately daghan na gulat. Sakit sa pinoy.

    I'll humor you, if i signed a contract stating that a lending insitution will have the right to kill me if i will not pay my debt within the period of time that is stated in the contract. WILL IT MAKE MY KILLING LEGAL?Â* that is basically the same logic.

    That's ILLEGAL. It's prohibited by the Labor Code.

    http://www.chanrobles.com/legal4labor4.htm#BOOK%20V

    Labor Code of the Philippines
    Book Five, Chapter II
    UNFAIR LABOR PRACTICES OF EMPLOYERS
    ART. 248. Unfair labor practices of employers. - It shall be unlawful for an employer to commit any of the following unfair labor practice:

    (a) To interfere with, restrain or coerce employees in the exercise of their right to self-organization;

    (b) To require as a condition of employment that a person or an employee shall not join a labor organization or shall withdraw from one to which he belongs;

    (c) To contract out services or functions being performed by union members when such will interfere with, restrain or coerce employees in the exercise of their rights to self-organization;

    if this call centers have this clause in their contract... then why is it that no action has been taken against them?

    Is the government desperately in need of their investments to ignore this?

    That is the BIGGEST problem. Â*One of the reasons I wanted out actually coz the very same people that are complaining and we were fighting for are scared. Â*Can't also totally blame them though because we do not belong to the same status who has a better alternative and choices in life.

    So with this and on a larger scale, I would like to think Ninoy died in vain. hehe!!

    Anyway, some people tend to convince and kidd themselves that it's all about attitude. Â*Well for me, if one's right is already stepped on then no amount of attitude can ever level with that.

    i remember one supervisor of a call center giving an employee a warning because she was not able to go to work because of heavy floods and has no more access to public transpo at 3am in the morning therefore was not able to call-in 2 hours before her shift. her supervisors reply, "you should have came in a couple of hours before your shift." what an idiot!

    talk about powerplay and slave-driving!
    (slaps the forehead)...pastilan!!Â* Only in the Philipines folks, only in the Philippines...

    i do understand that it may sound unfair however the employee already agreed on the 2 hour call-in policy.its more about professionalism, you agreed on something and should comply to it no matter what circumstances there maybe..... ( i know many will hate me with this)

    if i had to work at 3am her are my options:
    1. goto work very early and stay at the sleep room
    2. mag taxi

    there are many ways to kill a cat and many ways to be at work early and to anticiapte the rain or what-have yous.....

    for call centers being a slave driver..... ITS SO TRUE... they may pay well but sometimes money aint eveything.

    for security in IT PARK..... poor management gyud........ my friend was mugged infront of the guard house.. and the guard did not do anything...... guards sa IT PARK are useless..........

    NO OFFENSE but all I can say about your advice is GET A LIFE!

    First, even with your regular routine at a call center it already eats up a HUGE CHUNK of your rest, recreation and social life. ...and you still have the qualms of giving that advice?

    Secondly, what if it rained hard 2 hours before the agent's shift and their area was flood prone and taxis, jeepneys, multicabs, tricycles, habal-habals, etc. cannot enter their area anymore because this is exactly what happened to that agent?Â* These things do happen you know.Â* If I were the supervisor I would have been humurous instead of being a total idiot by telling the agent to buy a speedboat or get a tank.

    That's the reason this call center is a slave driver because calling in sick or for whatever reasons is such a big issue and poor, unlucky you if you have a gago supervisor.Â* Moreover, policies are implemented depending on the supervisor's discretion and not really by the book so the implementation is not fair. More of weather-weather lang. If I were them I would tear up that book and wipe my a$$. That's the reason why these supervisors loves playing God. The funny thing is that this problem are almost 100% with women supervisors/superiors. I will notÂ* be surprised if one of these days that one of these supervisors will be harassed OUTSIDE the facility.

    They should think that there are higher responsibilities in their pathetic world such as being humane and sociable. These girls are acting like robots.
