I'm in the ripe age (not right age) of 50+ years old. What you know in Martial Arts doesn't have to be all about sports but how to protect yourself. Time will come that you will be into that line... it may not be this time but once you get to know more of your abilities, you will be tested and tested all the time. Now, MA may not be your last resort but fighting back is...

I'd like to bias myself with our own martial arts but there are too many physical attributes that far superior by nature... any MA they practice is superior for us to know but fact is, it's upto the person. I've heard and seen to many of these martial artists that holds too many martial arts systems under their belts (even certificates) but when you see them perform their styles... they're crapeziods! My dog can perform better than they are (insert laff here)!

One example, a couple of years back I had a visitor who came to learn filipino martial arts (FMA) because he likes it... authentic, exotic, whatever he told - flowery stuff. I asked him what is your purpose of learning FMA? He said, it's an addition to his school. He had so many styles - as written in his website (I think 15 of them). When I asked him to defend a knife attack, he freaked out! Literally used a real knife and have him defend or even disarm me. He immediately said... He doesn't use real weapons. Well, he failed! I didn't accept him as my student because it's useless to train a person who is more inclined in schooling people than teaching how and what to defend when the fight is real.

There is no such thing as BEST MARTIAL ARTS . If there is , you wont see anymore martial artist developing styles that is more " convenient " , " effective " , " simple " etc than the existing others .

It all boils down to the fighter / practitioner . When we say MIX MARTIAL ARTS , it is not a DISCIPLINE anymore because it is not in its PUREST FORM .
