Default Re: Pacman not the best boxer in his division..

The question will still rise as to the quality of Pacquiao's opponents during his 2-year IBF Super bantamweight and 10-month WBC Flyweight title reigns. Though Pacquiao did had some very impressive and memorable fights against Barrera, Morales, and Marquez, most of which are money fights. What made great fighters go down in history are title fights, and the quality of their opponents in such fights.

Today's rankings will soon wither in time, but the belt and the record will always be there to prove who Manny Pacquiao really is and what kind of opponents he did defeat. And Manny Pacquiao became well known as a Super featherweight fighter and most of his better opponents in his career are from the same division, he should prove that he's the best by winning the Super featherweight belt.

Barrera and Morales are already out, what's left for him is Juan Miguel Marquez. Joan Guzman and Edwin Valero can wait for their turn.

i agree that Manny always fight for money so his "para sa karangalan ng bayan" line everytime he fights is pure crap. but i dont think Manny is not the best in his division this time. its just money weighs more than the belt.

hahahaha... why compare Manny to Ozzy?.. also in Music, you dont need Music Awards to be a "Hall of Famer" ...

hmmmm.. i dont even remember Ludwig Van Bethoven getting an award..

    IMHO

my point is that you dont need to have a title or an award to be remembered or be in the hall of fame. if you excel or are very famous in your field, you can be remembered in history. though those belts spice up your reputation

but pacman will gain more and lose less if he fight juan diaz while he has everything to lose and few to gain against marquez. if he beats marquez in a rematch, people will criticize him of fighting old and washed up fighters not in their prime and if he loses, he will have a few left. but if he loses against diaz, he can have a valid excuse that diaz is just too big for him and then go back to the superfeatherweight division and fight marquez.

If that's the case, then Pacquiao should try to go up to lightweight and try to take all of Juan Diaz's belts, plus have the privilege of being the first to beat Diaz in his pro career.

The possible rematch against Marquez is not for Pacquiao being so picky about his opponents, rather, it should settle everything after the controversial result the last time they fought. Plus the fact that Pacquiao will have the shot at the Super Featherweight title, which he should have since he rose to fame in such category.

Whatever match Pacquiao should take, he should take title matches now. He's not getting any younger and if he wants to leave a legacy in boxing, titles do it in print. He's got more than enough money anyway.

Well we cannot consider JMM as a washed up boxer.Remember he is the champion and he keeps on winning fights.Compare to a Barrera and a Morales who are clearly having difficulty in winning points. They are clearly fading boxers. When comes to alibi ,Im not against Manny but he is used to it already.Remember when he lost to Morales the first time? He's alibi is he is not wearing his favorite gloves and the blisters in his foot. When he lost to 3k battery he is overweight. One thing if he got lost to Barrera Im sure the alibi of Manny will be his weight problem. When he lost to custodio in election he said he was cheated for in fact it came out in his mouth that he wasted so much money, millions; but came out short in his votes. So iwant want to see pacman fight Marquez first before making alibi when he will loss to Juan Diaz.
