pwede raman bisan unsa na digital camera as long as maka produce ug RAW format or analog camera nga maka produce ka ug film negative file. dili raman ni sa mga naka dslr ang photo contest ug wala pud naghatag ug minimum specs unsa na camera gamiton pero it gives an advantage kung naa kay hi-end gears pero sa maniniyot ra gihapon na daugon ug sa mga maniniyot nga naay mga connections sa mga judges ug sa mga orgranizers. hehehe i'm sure balik2x ra gihapon ning mga taohana ang maka sulod sa line-up.hehehe

The photo contest requires jpeg photo with raw format as entry submission - mostly from DSLRs. There are jpeg only cameras like action cameras (e.g. GoPro, etc.) that can take good photos but cannot be submitted as entry due to lack of a raw format. It's about time to consider jpeg only photos as a separate photo contest category like the film category. To consider the high probability of rain this coming Sinulog, action cameras touted for their waterproofing are good backups rather than to risk DSLRs in spite of their weather-proofing.

Cell phone photos also fall under the JPEG only category.

There are new phones that that shoots RAW. Like the Huawei P9

RULES OF THE CONTEST
3. All entries must be submitted on or before January 25, 2017, with its duly accomplished forms. Photographers taken in digital form must be accompanied with the propriety raw format (e.g. NEF, CRW etc.) digital file in CD format. Film negative, APS magnetic files must be surrendered to the Sinulog Foundation, Inc. office at the Cebu City Sports Center. Non attachment of these requirements would mean immediate disqualification.

4. Any digital manipulation tool (e.g. cut & paste, healing, etc.) that is not applicable/ do able in the printing process from an analog media (film) shall mean immediate disqualification of the entry. Post production like exposure control (dodge and burn); color saturation (control); creative cropping are all do able when you print from a negative. Even conversion to black and white color toning () sepia, blue, selenium, etc) as long as it’s done across the frame and not only in selected areas is acceptable.
