By expanding the length to 128 bits, IPv6 allows us to assign IP addresses to all appliances (with more than enough to spare) on Earth. This eliminates most of the problems that plague IPv4. You can google it up on the web and find the dancing kame.

have you done this? how will you migrate IPv4 devices to IPv6? are today's ISPs in cebu already IPv6 ready?

yes, i know about IPv6 and that every person on earth could have each strand of his hair addressed with it

so 255.255.255.0 is one network with 254 users

    just correct me....

if I use 255.255.192.0 can I have one network with 16,382 users and I don't need layer 3 switch

if you can ping a workstation, of course you could see that device on your windows explorer.

about the 255.255.0.0 mask, i'm not sure it would be a great idea because it would cause your network to be a supernet assuming it would be 192.36.0.0/16. they should pick a Class B private address if they're planning to get the /16 block.

    mga bro ,

mao ni ila problem more than 400 pc cla then nigamit 2 network 192.36.252.xxx and 192.36.253.xxx. but the did not tel the used deafault subnet mask.. if the used default subnet mask the can not see each other 192.36.252.xxx, 192.36.253.xxx. are two network how can see each other your ip host 192.36.252.1 255.255.255.0 and the second host 192.36.253.1 255.255.255.0 dli gyod na magkita. if youre subnet mask 255.255.0.0 magkita gyod kaayo pero dako lang kaayo iya broodcast storm..

try lang two pc crossover using default subnetmask then try pod using subnetmask 255.255.0.0

Question sa akong frend, mag kita ba sa network or maka connect sa internet cla tanan using 192.36.252.xxx ug 192.36.253.xxx?
nope di cla magkita u need a router for this but since 300-400 cla ka buok why use class C? use class A or B instead para ma accomodate sila tanan sa isa lang ka subnet mas sayon pa di na ka kinahanglan mag router og di na ni mag lalis mga tawo dire
