Sakto gyud!
Botulism may be more possible kung ang lata is bloated o ga burot rather than lumping or dented. This is due to the gas by product of the C. botulinum bacteria. Pero ingon akong maestra sa biochem sa una kay heat will denature the botulin toxin. So lutu-a ug ayo kung naa kay duda. But the best is avoid na lang gyud....
Mga 'bai ayaw lang gyud ninyo kalimti nga moderation is the key unya remember not to eat the can hehehe.

FYI lang. It's a very common misconception especially for non Chemistry majors that all SALTS are asin. ASIN in our dialect is chemically known as SODIUM CHLORIDE (NaCl) and commonly known as TABLE SALT. Salt is one categpry of a compound which is a combination of a cation & an anion. Therefore, sodium nitrite is a salt and so is sodium chloride but the two are different substances.
another thing....
kanang "lumping" sa mga delata.... the coating there is already broken so the metal is already exposed to oxygen & water. Corrosion will begin. It's a simple oxidation-reduction reaction
