USA's first game in the FIBA qualifiers is against Venezuela. Head coach Mike Krzyzewski still weighs his options for the final 12, but pretty sure Kobe Bryant, LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony will be with the team as well as Jason Kidd and Amare Stoudemire.

USA's final 12 were already named. Seattle rookie sensation Kevin Durant and hard working forward Nick Collison were cut from the team.

Collison was dropped because of USA's intent to keep a limited number of big men. Amare Stoudemire, Tyson Chandler and Dwight Howard were named to the team. Guards Michael Redd and Mike Miller were retained as USA needs shooters.

hmmm...they want to have a run and gun and a good shooting team huh...but still ila frontliners dili gihapon mangitsahay sa gawas..I honestly think international teams who have been succesfl as of late are those teams with centers who shoot threes like Greece, Italy, Argentina..mao na USA needs to develop big men who can shoot from beyond the arc

I'm actually confident about this team. Not because of Kobe Bryant, LeBron James or Carmelo Anthony but because of Jason Kidd and Tyson Chandler. Both players are what USA needs, Kidd is a veteran who just don't play well but could also serve as a mentor for the whole team while Tyson Chandler brings in intensity, inside presence and defense. I won't be surprised if other teams would settle for outside shots and not to dare attack the lane.

yeah, and as long as they are not making their outside shots as well...but this lineup can defend pretty well in the perimeter too, they just have to learn to play as a team on both ends of the court

yeah and he needs more than his individual defensive skills, he must also be aware as well as everybody should that Team USA need to play team defense more than individual defense

naay chance if they play teamwork and not the nba style of play....then first they should qualify in FIBA olympic qualifying tournament
