Who is the best rookie this 2007-2008 NBA season

manga amigo.. murag si kevin durant raman sad siguroy rookie nga niduwa ato nga game.. siyempre ma highlite gid siya.. besides it was just a single game.. and the nba games aren't played like the team usa try out game.. he's a good player. but could he survive an nba season? we'll find out, so with the other rookies..

True he's the only rookie in Team USA's roster, yet he won't receive such praises if he didn't deserve it. Did Emeka Okafor had accolades during his stint with the USA Team in his rookie year? Christian Laettner during the 1st ever Dream Team? Adam Morrison?

There's too much hype in this year's draft, especially around Greg Oden and Durant, and so far Durant has lived with it, along with other rookies in the Summer League. Oden and Yi has been disappointments so far, maybe blame it on Oden's miserable tonsils. But for now, Durant is the best in the pack.

my point is, you don't name the best rookie just because of a game or a stint with team usa..christian laettner during the 1st ever dream team? you wouldn't dare compare dream team with today's team usa right? kagrabe sag talent atong dream team compared sa team usa karon where guys like durant could easily show up.. plus have you seen the '92 team usa's try outs? and how laettner was doing in each of those? the best rookie would emerge when the season is almost done.. wala pa gani ka show ang uban.. give them a chance to expose themselves..

i think lang na i, for one concluded na durant will perhaps be the best rookie yet just because of the fact na he did show brilliance sa ato na game..although one game lang to but take note na dili to siya all star game but a game that will earn them a spot sa USA squad and durant made quite an impact amidst a talented pool... :mrgreen:

The purpose of this forum is to discuss as to who deserves to be the ROY based on stats and recent performances.

Dream Team? True, they're the better team. Laettner and Durant? One thing in common, both had a spectacular college career, that's why in the first place both deserved a spot in Team USA. True, Laettner was in a situation with the Dream Team where he can't really show off because of Jordan, Bird and Magic and guys like Malone, Barkley, Ewing and Robinson who share the same position as him. Durant is in a similar situation. He's got Kobe, LeBron and Anthony to contend to, and they all play almost the same position. Aren't these guys good enough? Durant is simply a cut above the rest. Maybe it's just "one game", but isn't it a message of what he can do?

Nobody is picking anyone to be the best rookie at this juncture when the season haven't even started yet, we are just giving our respective opinions whom we think should be the rookie of the year. Besides, everybody is entitled to their own opinion. Isn't this what this thread is all about to begin with, right?
