I just finished Guacamelee! on the Vita. I really enjoyed it. Good thing we have indie developers who are still making metroidvanias.

The Vita is lacking in retail releases. Good thing there are a lot of indie games on the Vita. For now, my Vita is an indie machine. here are some indie games on the Vita I liked:

    Guacamelee
    Dragon Fantasy
    Thomas Was Alone
    Velocity Ultra
    Retro City Rampage

and I'm still waiting for the ports of Lone Survivor, Terraria and Hotline Miami which should be released this year.

Terraria fans waiting for the 1.2 update might have to chill a bit longer.

"First off I want to thank everyone who has remained supportive and patient while waiting for this update! The team and I are working very hard and want to get it out as soon as possible but we do not want to release something that is not finished and polished properly. As far as things to finish go we still need to revamp the dungeon, give hell a facelift, finish up 5 bosses, and if time permits add the npc quest system. Most of the hard stuff has been finished but it is still very difficult to give an actual release date that isn't just, " I hope it is done by X" or " It's done when it's done." Just trust that I know what I am doing with this update, I really don't want to release something that lacks content and you blow through in 2 days."

then try dwarf fortress like I suggested in the first post. this is the game that inspired Notch to create minecraft. this game has a very very steep learning curve, but I reckon a 'hardcore' gamer like you can handle it

project zomboid still a thing? I only played the beta but because the developer made a tantrum on account of his laptop was stolen. what an asshole though.

Been following kenshi's development since I played alpha. it looks promising so far. Try mount and blade if you like this sort of game and get warband expansion and not napoleonic wars.

I haven't installed rust yet because I still have too many games on queue.

More games to add to my list:

    Unepic. gameplay similar to castlevania

Dungeons of dredmor. One of the best roguelikes I've played

I've been following the M&B series for a while, I can't wait for Bannerlords. That's my number one most anticipated game since they announced it. Kenshi is still in alpha, but i love it so far.

As for Zomboid, it's development was mired by a lot of problems including the codes that were lost in the theft. Still, I like the concept of the game and the multiplayer is fun (though still in development), though it seems to fizzle its way into commercial release.

Rust is fun but I'm gonna wait until its out of beta before I play again (same with DayZ), I don't like having to start over again after the constant wipes. It's a lot more fun if you have a group of people to play with in the game too. The first time playing it felt like I was always being hunted by bandits, I was afraid to cook my food because they'd spot me in an instant and chase my stone-hatchet-wielding *** into some radiation-contaminated area, buck-naked, cold, and hungry (because I left my meat on the fire). It's very rare to find players that don't KoS, and I actually ended up joining a ragtag group (like 2 Americans, a Russian guy, a guy from the U.K., and a Finnish dude) who were pretty cool . Whenever you guys get around to playing Rust, hit me up. We'll build an epic fortress.
