I have fixed mine this week with error code 0102, when i got it fixed it ran for 10 mins and another error occured, something in the HANA chip/AVout chip, so i attached heat sink on that chip and also the chip near the HDD, i bought CD-R king North bridge heatsink and attached it to the chips using thermal sticker included (250Php ang set). Now it worked fine. i played for 5 hours straight even without additional fans and no aircon.

my board was fixed by i-tech twice, but it costs me money, so i decided to fix it myself.

I fixed my xbox 360 5x already, most of them was solved by just tightening the CPU and GPU heatsinks to press the chips on the board, i fixed it first time by attaching erasers and double sided tape in the RAM chip, but it was a temporary fix. most fix in the internet include replacing the thermal paste in between the heatsink and the GPU/CPU chips.

You can easily open your xbox 360 and fix it yourself, there are tutorials on how to open it, its very easy plus there are only 4 components inside. (mother board, DVD-DL drive, FANS (just like CPU fans), and the switch board that lights the 4 rings) the GPU and CPU is built in. the DVD-DL drive is SATA interface. the switch board is slot interface, like USB.
there are only three wires inside, the SATA and power wire for the DVD-DL and the 5V wire for the FAN. much easier than a PC assembly. but you need a T-screw (T7,T8,T9) set to open the case. (bought mine in True value ayala)

I assume my fix is only temporary, but sometime this 3-ROL will haunt me again. just don't give up. it's like hell though.

i can't give 100 % guarantees on falcon edition, pero so far compared sa unang xbox 360 mas ok cya. even in ps3 meron din blue ray issue. in fairness, mas bilis ma-repair ang ps3. pero in terms of maka-save ang xbox 360 kaysa ps3. pero, so far dumadami na nakakagawa ng first edition xbox360 ung di falcon.

Modifying the 360 is simply done by flashing the drive (nothing done on the board itself). Fixing a 3RL 360 is another thing. I'm sure they fixed some 360s before. However, as we all know, sooner or later the problem keeps coming back. I believe that as long as there are no sure fix for the 3RL, they will be reluctant in fixing again. Heheh.

the guarantee of the fix is just temporary, there's too much cheap parts inside your xbox 360. some fix i applied dont even match with the error codes i have. chances are, you'll still experience the 3RL sometime in your happy xbox360 happy time. believe me, i've experienced it. and the fix i apply is just cheap. just a minor modification(tightening a screw, sticking a cheap heatsink, putting erasers, slapping it hard, towel fix(when i was desperate at that time) etc.) all that without soldering any pin.

We must accept it, Xbox 360 hardware is a failure, except the games, but anyway, i still am proud to have one.
My xbox 360 is now celebrating its 1 year old of fix and play.

    Wii want a Wii!!!! lol

I think its an Overheating issue and the GPU and CPU solders melting thus causing it to become loose on the board, this problem is also worsen from the slight bended position of the board and the clamp where both chips are soldered.

Probably the best way to protect ur Xbox 360 is to add additional fans to it and make sure air can flow freely from side to side, never place it inside an appliance cabinet or similar where it will suck again hot air coming out from the unit or the Power Supply.

    Just my 2 cents
