An embedded system is a special purpose computer that is used inside of a device. Programming this kind of system is much difficult compared to PC based applications coz the resources is limited especially the memory so you need to have a good algorithm that implements the wise use of hardware resources.
Its like comparing firmware and Microsoft Office. I agree that resources is limited in embedded but isnt it that because your requirement is also limited or not that robust? It means embedded programs are not for housewives and grandmother who are demanding drag and drop, but for those machines to work with the lowest level. Thefore, as an embedded programmer you are, you have different way of thinking, like you consider registries, memories available, bits, and computer logics. While application programmers has accounting, usability and user-friendliness of the application like he should consider that your Llola could operate your software without reading a manual. In embedded programs, you dont have to worry about user interface.Originally Posted by xyberblue
Both programmers have state-of-the-art algorithm. Thus you cant say that an embedded is more difficult than apps.
