Mas paspas man ang tuyok sa Earth kaysa pag labay sa comet. Therefore, you will see it in the night sky for a period of several nights, even weeks, gradually moving against the backdrop of stars. Same sa planets, pero faster lang ang rate of progression.

If directly above the earth, then of course, ang mga sa southern hemisphere dili dyud makakita (and vice-versa), except if layo-layo pa sa earth ang comet.

where were you when Hale-Bopp passed by in 1997?

I haven't seen that, i am too young at that time to identify if that is a comet.

I thought it was only a dream that I saw a comet when I was really young. Glad to know it was really true. Not sure lang if it was Hale-Bopp or Hyakutake. It would probably be great if I can see the one coming in November 2013.
