looks like kaya ra ang east guys hehehe
with lebron james and a very supportive line-up, cleveland could dominate the east. they have the potential to make it to the finals this season. cleveland is a better team than what they are last season, who brought the pistons to a thrilling 7-games series. they now have the playoff experience. shaq is dominating again but without wade, it won't be easy for him, ben wallace and chicago is not consistent thus far, toronto has no playoffs experience and stopping gilbert arenas means a washington defeat. the only thing that might stand between james and company is still the detroit pistons. they have lost ben wallace but the addition of chris webber makes the team very versatile. another 7-game series perhaps? lets just hope sheed won't burn down Z again..
Last month, LeBron James questioned Mike Brown's style of play and columnist Kevin Brewer suggests that he might even be trying to get the head coach of the Cavaliers fired.
"We don't get easy buckets," he said. "I don't get easy buckets like I used to. Easy buckets can always help. It doesn't hurt. At times, it's fun to get up and down and throw lobs. I've probably caught two lobs this year. That's a career low."
I posted this somewhere in the NBA 2006-07 thread and, most likely, coach Mike Brown is reacting to Lebron's criticism. Indeed, if the Cavaliers play the level like they had last playoffs there's no way they can contend for the 'chip.
Right now, the Cavaliers are second in the weak East conference. They'd be playing in the first round against the struggling Indiana Pacers, who have lost 7 straight. So, most likely, the Orlando Magic will be there opponent and its gonna be tough.
If they make it through the first round, it would be vs. the Washington Wizards and the formidable deadly trio of Arenas, Butler and Jamison. Z and Hughes should step up to help Lebron with the offense to get past the Wizards.
If they make it through the second round, it's going to be a rematch against the Detroit Pistons. The Cavaliers may need more offensive help than Lebron and should the other guys step up, they're on to the NBA Finals.
Bibby, Cleveland-bound?
He still has 2 years left in his contract and has the largest payroll in Sacto. The Cavaliers were working up a three-team deal but GM Geoff Petrie turned them down:
The Phoenix Suns were in on the Mike Bibby to Cleveland trade discussions until the very end on Thursday, the trade deadline. They were attempting to unload Marcus Banks, but neither the Kings or Cavaliers wanted the point guard.
The Cavaliers worked feverishly in their attempts to acquire Bibby, lining up several three and four-team trades.
Geoff Petrie reportedly refused to budge from what he wanted, expiring contracts and draft picks.
