Messiah of Evil (1973) AKA Dead People is a strange one, essentially a zombie movie it's best described as a nightmare on film.
The Dead (2010) is a great new zombie flick from Africa. There are no big FX sequences and the pace is slow, but IMO it's one of the best.Last edited by reptoid; 06-09-2012 at 09:52 AM. Reason: Original pic host down.

Original slow zombies versus the original fast zombies.... nice! Love both films, but it's interesting to compare the plot of 28 Days Later with The Day of The Triffids (1962). Both films feature a leading man who wakes up in an abandoned hospital to find the world overrun by monsters.

Them is a classic sci-fi/horror flick which heavily influenced James Cameron's Aliens and Monsters was a low-budget shakey-cam success story which compares favorably with Cloverfield.
