Dwelling on the past . That's what Filipinos are good at ! It's 2012 , not 1951 dearies . Yeah , we beat them back in the day but today they'd molest the whole AFP beyond biblical proportions and take Spratleys in less than a week .

Nothing wrong with looking back in the past. Its what history is for. Nothing changes especially in warfare (sure you get new equipment but the nature of it is still the same). Hitler had problems with his Russian invasion especially when winter struck not seeing a hundred years before Napoleon suffered quite similar problems.

Leyte Gulf 1944, Bay of Pigs Invasion 1961, Cuban Missile Crisis Naval Blockade 1962, Gulf of Tonklin 1964, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, Taiwan Strait Crisis 1954-1996

These are just few historical examples we can learn from and this is only while they're still at sea.

The Korean war is often called the forgotten war as it was overshadowed by the Vietnam conflict. Even today most people don't really understand what unfolded in terms of involved nations and casualties. The strange thing is that officially the war never ended and when asked what to expect should hostilities resume one expert proclaimed "a symphony of death".

The Filipinos have always been the underdog. The Spaniards, the Americans, the Japanese have better equipment but history will shows how Filipinos although kuwang sa gamit wala nagkuwang sa kaisog. Defeat or Victory, Filipinos always find ways. Unless majority of us turn to have an attitude like yours there is no hope na gyud.

why should we stop glorifying the past? its like saying we should stop teaching history classes in schools If we annalyze things, this could be the only time we could see china vs philippines. I doubt the majority of chinese and pinoys are askings for war. and china wont war us cause we are US ally plus they had agreement with US not to interfere with national interest. and hell, china wont even war taiwan.

and yes we had war with milf and other insurgents in mindanao, who is asking for an independent state. but does also china had its own rogue province named taiwan. we should worry more of this insurgencies when they have their own air force, navy, army like those taiwan had im sure things are being resolve as peacefully as possible; if theres a political will.. we can end it. cge ra man peace talks then ambush or hit town then war na pud, mao man na ang cycle at least naa pay control ang philippine government whereas nag mini cold war ang china and taiwan.
