Romney is one of those greedy capitalists whose standing with many other greedy capitalists remains strong. Santorum is a religious fanatic who will impose his church's standards on others through strong or subtle approaches in governance.

Really, the Republicans have no strong and no sensible candidate to challenge Obama. The US economy is improving under Obama's leadership which is too bad for the GOP.

I do believe Romney will win the GOP primaries, but I am almost certain he won't be able to win in the general elections. But if Gringrich and Santorum concede and rally the party for Romney, early, then who knows. splintered kaayo ang GOP after such highly contested primaries.

The socialist tag thrown on Obama is overkill and over-done by those unthinking critics. Obama is not exactly trying to implement full and pure socialism in America but rather reform the capitalism system using some aspects of socialism. Pure capitalism is deeply flawed, is prone to abuse and greed, and I promise you had Ronald Reagan been alive right now, he would express regret over his Reaganomics and he would realize how extreme the Republican party turned out today. Heck, Reagan himself compromised alot with the Democrat-dominated House in his 8 years of power.

As for the GOP being fractured once the party nominates Romney...religion will be the one powerful dividing reason. Evangelical Christians in America strongly oppose Mormons most of the time. Today, they call the Mormons as an evil cult. Religious intolerance within the GOP is very clear and alive.
