yeah, that's currently what i am having a hard time conceptualizing now, how to make the site as interesting as possible, and won't just be another redundant social networking site. still in the process of conceptualization, feel free to hit me with ideas. hehe.

thanks bro for the comments. i understand that this is a big gamble, though this is just an experimental project. creating our own social networking site, is just actually one of the objectives; another reason why i want to create this project is to add this to my portfolio. you, being in the software development business i believe understands this. i have developed several websites already from Thailand, India, and US; but i find it hard now to look for additional clients considering that i don't advertise the websites that i created for my previous clients (especially if they don't allow me). so one thing that came to my mind is own one that could showcase my expertise (PHP and MySQL); and one way is own a site that is created from scratch; and add to my portfolio. basin naa kay mga projects diha which you might need a PHP developer, do let me know. hehe.

but of course, another main objective is still create a local social networking site para sa mga Bisaya, and make this a tool for promoting our local tourism, business, etc.

just keep coding you actually reach there in no time... good luck!! im subscribing this... anyways i do have some pending projects, and my client is starting to bugged me when do it start... im being swamp right now at my dayjob..

this client is using my homebrew framework which has the capability of all the features you just mentioned above, with a combination of Wordpress and Joomla, its like transformer its can be Social Network,eCommerce,Blog using only a plugin you can even combined all in one... this is the remnant of the social network i made before with more updated code... im planning to release this soon as a free limited license...

PM me your details and highlight the skills which you are very good at... they're might more project coming from this client, he has lots of website that waits for a developer which i cant do right now...
