Joseph Kony is responsible for creating Child soldiers for his LRA--True.
What they didn't tell you is that there are various rebel/militant factions in Africa (Some are rivals of the LRA) who are guilty of the same deeds. Even some of those African nations are guilty of recruiting children (see Uganda). This campaign, though created for good-intent is oversimplifying the situation in those areas of Africa.
I don't know much about this campaign, though I've heard of the organization "Invisible Children" during the genocide in Darfur. I hope they don't just focus on Kony, because there are plenty of warlords in those areas of conflict.
The World's 10 Most Wanted
Joseph Kony
A Ugandan guerrilla group leader, head of the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA), a group engaged in a violent campaign to establish theocratic government based on the Ten Commandments throughout Uganda. The LRA is a militant group with a syncretic Christian extreme religious ideology. They are known for the extreme atrocities they commit against civilians, including murder, mutilations, rape, and in some accounts even cannibalism.
aaahh.. now i know what kony is all about..
the new generation hitler..
ahhh, , ,so thats what it is, , ,poor kids >.<
The problem with that strategy is it does not address the problem of power vacuum. What the organization should do is to get NATO to step in there, not as peace-keepers (like when they were in Rwanda) but as Peace-makers OR at least assist the AU. That kind of tactic won't work. Remember Farah Aidid? His faction simply lost power to another warlord's faction.
The problem is deeply-rooted, and it stems in ethnicities of the warring groups. Even if you capture Kony or Ongwen or the other leaders of LRA and other factions such as the SPLM, FNL, UFDR, FUC, JEM, SLA--as well as the African countries who also coerce children to join their ranks like Burundi, Uganda, Chad, Sierra Leone and various other nations--there will always be new groups and new characters, unless you tackle the problem in its roots. Again, it's oversimplifying things in Africa. Caused by years and years of conflict and made worst when European colonialism entered the continent, and then more years of conflict until now.

Lets just all be thankful that someone was brave and willing enough to let the whole world know of this said person. To be honest, I had not the slightest idea of what this was all about if it werent for the Invisible Children. I am grateful that they offered a lot of effort for this one cause. Whats important is that a lot of people are now aware and that something is being done. It may be impossible to stop these kinds of happenings but it has gotta start somewhere, right? So let us all help in our own little way
