If you want a 'little' privacy of your browsing history, you can use the "Do not Track" feature of Firefox.
Tools > Option > Privacy >

Right. Although Google has user privacy settings to turn off or disable web history (includes your google searches and visited sites), it does not mean that your web history is not kept for internal purposes. Personal data will still be stored and be used by for law enforcement if there are court orders. Even deleted messages, posts, pictures and accounts in Facebook are still archived.
