you can also add that most young professionals already tried working in a callcenter.

this might be true for a number of reasons, i think you might not have given more though about.

1.) Popularity - employment in the BPO sector (call center, IT dev, programming, etc.) is the fastest growing industry in the country. more often than not, college graduates (and undergraduates) do a brief stint in the call center industry even if its is not related to their fields. we have heard of nurses, engineers and such applying for customer service positions simply because of better compensation than jobs in their field. some also do it for experience.

2.) Very High Employee Turnover Rates - since many employees do not consider a career in the industry and only think of it as a temporary thing, employee turnover rates are very high. add to that the fact the tendency of employees to go "call center/BPO hopping" due to various reasons, the top of which is the overly stressful work environment.

these two factors working together makes these kinds of jobs the most talked about as prospective employees would like to learn more about what options are there by comparing impressions and information on the pros and cons of different BPO companies. as a public forum, istorya.net is a venue for sharing these information with the hopes that prospective employees can get at least a birds eye view and would be better equipped to decide on which company they would apply.

there is currently a plan that the admins are working on to segregate the topics properly and make a separate sub-forum for BPO careers to prevent other threads being drowned out by these threads.

however, before we go asking why the forums is inundated by such threads, better know the situation on the ground first so that we can understand why it is so.

    thread locked.
