Not just because the Yankees lost for the 3rd straight season in the first round of the playoffs, but I think the first round should also be a best of seven event. After 162 regular season games... they have a best of five for the first round? They only have 3 total rounds of playoffs per season (including the world series)... I think it's time to lengthen the first round to a best of seven games round.

Arod usually goes for the money... henceforth the nickname: Payrod.

I would like to see Joe Torre back but I hope that if Rivera comes back with him... that Torre will not use him as the exclusive closer. I have so much respect for Mariano but he is getting a bit long in the tooth. I think Joe feels that he HAS to always go to Mariano when it's crunch time, a respect thing for him also.... but it cost us a few ball games this year. Although the middle relief has a huge hole in it also.

It will be interesting to see who comes back and who does not.
