Here's the thing, Tebow could have been eligible to a Filipino citizenship, some time ago. Well, if he's resided in the country for at least 10 years and he was under 18--he could have elected Filipino citizenship. He is a US citizen since his parents are both US citizens--US birthright citizenship--born to US citizens overseas.
Me, I'm both a US and a Filipino citizen, still by birthright but under the parentage clause.
I believe the Philippines is more lenient now, the country allows dual citizenship.
