The same thing for this thread. Be responsible enough. Mindanao is too big for that incident to happen.
correct. it's sensationalism, pure and simple.

read the posts. it seems that the circumstances point to a different suspect.

Muslims killing priests are so old-school. our prejudices are being revealed by our hasty conclusions.

i understand, but not everybody knows where Arakan is.

if i wrote the article maybe, just maybe, i would have considered your suggestion, and this thread would have had a different title. but its not only locals who read these news, and if it had Arakan on it instead of Mindanao, not a lot of people, especially from the int'l community would consider reading this article, maybe its the number of how many people go to the news site that counts more rather than the content. exactly sensationalism sa mass media.

but they should be responsible enough. they're taging the whole of mindanao for that incident. they're making it appear that the whole of mindanao is in chaos where in fact it is relatively peaceful compared to Metro Manila.

you can go out to the streets using your expensive cellphones and wearing your expensive jewlries and still feel safe. can we do that in MM?

Viewpoint: ‘A future not our own’
    Juan Mercado

Remember Archbishop Oscar Romero of El Salvador? He became the strongest voice against government lawlessness after the murder of Jesuit Fr. Rutilio Grande, who defended the poor. Romero was shot while saying Mass in March 1980. A UN Commission later established that death squad leader Roberto D’Aubuisson ordered the killing.

Romero wrote what Tentorio lived for: “The kingdom is not only beyond our efforts, it is even beyond our vision…We merely plant seeds that will one day grow….We are ministers, not messiahs. We are prophets of a future, not our own.”

NBI arrests Italian priest Tentorio’s killer

    By Pat C. Santos
    12/30/2011

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has arrested the killer of Italian missionary Faustino Tentorio in North Cotabato in an incident that happened in October 2011.

This was revealed by Department of Justice Leila de Lima yesterday after she said that the principal suspect, identified as Jimmy Ato, was arrested in his house at Sitio Mahiwakwak, Koloman Valley, Arakan, North Cotabato at around 3 a.m. by operatives of the NBI Region XII.

Ato was the subject of a massive manhunt and was ordered arrested on the strength of warrant issued by Cotabato Regional Trail Court Branch 13 on charges of destruction, arson with homicide under criminal case 2245, explained De Lima.
