this statement is what caused all these "outpouring" of rather frank reactions. don't be offended lang bro. lesson learned...if unsure, let's not confirm something ourselves.

I also started a thread here last month asking experts to ID this very same snake species because an officemate is keeping one and he really thought it was a retic python. he was so bloody sure (pahulam sa ko sa expression nimo herpdoc ha! hehehe ) nga retic gyud daw to. so i asked him to show me a pic....and one look at it tells me that it is not a python (see below). once ID na, i asked him to just release it na lang since not worth it ang risk...and he's not even an advanced snake or reptile keeper.
