Default Re: Mac (book) vs. other Laptops / Pc

I used to be a PC person but I always hate it when my PC needs to be reformatted or repaired (even with responsible use). After trying a Mac, I don't want to use any other OS for what I do on the net [surf, youtube, download movies/anime etc].

    Cheers!

    my two cents

i use both, windows and mac to sort out pictures

but i do prefer windows more to sorting out picture because,
    1. double clicking instantly brings up the image and pressing left and right keys allow you to preview the next or last image. you cant do that on a mac. you need iphoto to do that

    2. dragging and dropping images is much easier because the windows are dedicated, mac has that feature of windows disappearing, meaning you have to take an extra step to go into spaces or be weary of the title bar to know where your dropping files

i enjoy mac for the hassle free no frills editing, on photoshop and archiving on iphoto. but i can use photoshop on both computers so i dont mind which is which.

going for PC doesnt make you less of a photographer, Mac or Not, its your pics that say your work.

    * Use spacebar to view pictures (NEF or JPEG or TEXT) click arrows to navigate no need iPhoto hehehehe

also, you can invest in a real editing desktop by having two monitors! maybe il take a picture of my setup.

PC or mac, why not have the best of both? no need to camp in one or the other :P

@michael, i didnt know that but thanks! and about the learning curve, its not about the curve really, more about the space on the screen, recently since i had an extra monitor, ive been doing more sorting out and editing on the PC since i use two screens to edit and sort out haha

but for portability macs or windows its fine

This is user skill-set na and how good you can adopt/compromise from one system to another. Wala man gi-develop ang Apple OS to be like how a Windows OS works. If it is to begin with, then it's just another copycat OS.

Bottomline if you're more productive using a PC-base system then kana imong pili-on over the MACs.

Sorry for nitpicking your post but I believe the TS is not concerned about desktop system but rather sa laptops line naka-incline iyang question

haha nice one michaelocana! more monitors ftw

sorry if we went off-topic for a bit

laptop-wise, im still half and half, but macs seemingly have longer battery life, are generally taken better care of, and no worries about the OS being corrupted by some random USB or virus. so you can focus more on editing and everything else for your photography
