I also use Uncle Mikes kydex products .

Again .. anybody ? Any choice of back up when your sidearm fails you ?
no prob, well you can never be too sure when you'll need those extra bullets hehehe, by the way a Chip McCormick 10 round single stack magazine is available in some gun stores in cebu.

I bought the XD 40 brand new for $ 600 and the Operator for $ 1300 used with less than 100 rounds from the first owner but with all the bells and whistles bai but I dont compete seriously. I am more into combat than practical .

I agree pero mahal kaayo ang STI . If I have the money to burn , I will choose KIMBER or WILSON 1911's over the STI though ive never tried the STI personally in the range .

for most of us who wants to own a gun, kanang STI, Para, Colt or Kimber dili jud na maaford sa kadaghanan. how about our own armscor? is it any good? it seems that americans are impress with the quality and price of these guns. try to read on these forum http://forum.m1911.org/forumdisplay.php?f=17 dedicated to the philippine made 1911. how about the chinese made norinco? the metal used on these 1911's are supposedly better than the higher priced brands. try to look on the pictures on these forums http://forum.m1911.org/showthread.php?t=97, you would not believe those guns are made in china.

    @ HIGANSTOLSDAV ....

These are only from my point of view and does not reflect nor represent the whole .

    - pictures speaks a thousand words but its different when you actually hold it and fire it .

    - only a Filipino can appreciate the ARMSCOR 1911 because even I havent had the chance to experienced its performance .

    - the pictures of the link provided differs a lot from the higher end models . The non- beveled sides alone is a give away that you dont want it because it is not snuggle free .

    - There are ENTRY LEVEL 1911 models of COLT and SPRINGFIELD ARMORY that is very affordable . Unless you want to " tangkilikin ang sariling atin " .

MSRP is under $ 600 and you wont go wrong in any SPRINGFIELD ARMORY firearm .

MSRP is under $ 700 and thats a KIMBER with some polymer material on a 1911 platform !!

MSRP is under $ 700 for a CHARLES DALY pistol is a good deal .

Save money bai and get what you want and not the " buying for the sake of owning one " . Get it right the first time , you get what you pay for . As ive said , no matter how you fell in love with it because of who made it , cosmetics and the way it looks like , its better to experienced it first before acquiring it . Hit the range and rent one today so you can decide tomorrow .

after a lot of reading from the internet, drooling on the display of different gun stores, and asking people who actually own one. i had two choices a norinco or an armscor. why? because it fits my budget, and i believe it as reliable as other expensive guns around. so i decided to buy the armscor 1911, kay might as well give my money to a filipino company. i could have bought a paltik from danao for less but i wanted to own one legally.

and for armscor and norinco, actually their performance is not that far off from other brands, murag ang nakalahi ra gyud kay ang ilang metal na gamit. Naa pud Llama na brand, Spain ni sya but barato ra pud and performs very well, i've also tried this brand single stack og hicap model, ok kaayu.

pero para sa ako, although having a good equipment is a plus, a gun is only as effective by the hand that handles it. in the couple of years that i've been shooting competitively, i've seen people with guns that is worth less than P30,000 beating out people using guns worth over P200T+.

what do you think of this thought that i shared?

springfield is right, you better choose carefully, kung unsa imo paliton, kay a gun is not like other things, na puede nimo baligya anytime you feel that you dont like it na.

although its an investment that for sure, you wont be using often, but there will be one time that you will thankfully know that it's just there.

but the most important part of owning a gun is, you really must learn to handle it properly, for your safety, and people around you that you dont intend to shoot.
