They teach us to do that (i.e. creating fire) so just in case in a worst case scenario whenever China invades the Philippines and so people flee to mountains and start the archaic way of survival. I'm just happy enough that I live in this free country, yet, dominated by bureaucrats and corrupt officials.
let me take a gander here, by book, you mean: twilight and harry potter?

    Excuses !!

You're one of the reason why we have a deplorable country . The country is plagued with soft people to the likes of you . Just by looking at your avatar , you're only good at being "pa choy2x" and making excuses . It wouldn't hurt if you just suck it up , and enjoy the fun . AFAIK , scouting only organize fun activities anyways , not military basic training .

I've read those but by books, I didn't mean novels.

In my own point of view, it's really up to someone if he (or she) wants to join scouting or not. You're mode of action is to either stay or leave the school and this is one of the main reasons why I chose the latter. For crying out loud, I just could not fathom as to why others invoke the issue of homosexuality and I can smell in this very public forum, the hatred of those who dislike gays as I read the meat of their messages. Just a side comment my dear readers since the issue brought up by the thread starter is whether to make scouting a voluntary activity or not in the first place. Never attack his or her personality nor arrive at a hasty conclusion that he is gay.

Actually, like CAT and ROTC, scouting instill discipline and comarade to you and your peers. Dili man ingon nga mag military ta afterwards, pero life as we know it, sometimes along the way maka encounter ta ug hardships much more greater than we have felt sa Scouting or ROTC. Training rana siya sa atong personality, bisan maka ingon ta nga wala jud gamit sa ato life, consciously speaking.

The principle in life is that, if you don't like how it is administered, better find another school. Quitters cannot succeed. If you quit on this simple thing, how much more if you encounter other difficult things. But then again, if you don't like it, then nobody is forcing you to stay.. diba?

OT: If you are gay TS, I respect you not as a gay but as a man...

    My 2 suggestions:

1.) Consult a physician, get checked, and present a medical certificate to your school and be a softie.

2.) Be man enough and suck it up! Physical activities could help you. Do swimming during weekends and engage in sports. I'm asthmatic too, I've been there, and exercise helped me out.
