There are many rules and ordinances all right, but have they been implemented? This does not only apply to waste management, this concerns almost all laws promulgated by congressmen we elect to office. There is even one news that some barangays in Cebu City are coming up with garbage shredders. This would mean another budget would be shelled out. The proposed project will hopefully generate garbage that would be recycled as fertilizers and will be sold by each barangay to the government to be distributed to farmers. I hope something good comes out with this project. Or this will again appear like trash that scatter on our roads and are never disposed.

For me it is within us.. if the authorities fails to implement the law then those people who has knowledge and aware of the effect should take part of this social cause rather than relying on the implementation, the policy and etc.

We need to act kay kita may naka bantay, but most of us just focusing on pointing fingers and tolerating there mediocre principle and mediocre stance.

Supposedly social cause is the easiest thing to solve.. kaso lang daghan kaayo tag rason..

Start at your back yard... recycle , reuse and segregate. I have a website regarding Cebu's problem if its okay with the mods for me to post the link here.?

I want to site one example on littering and were nobody care's trying looking at those small burger stands that just opened near your street. I bet hundreds of plastics from those burgers, hotdogs and other items are thrown infront of there stall. Do they clean them up? Nope! It sits there till the next rain comes and gets washed towards the sea.

2 years ago I posted a link regarding Cebu's garbage problem and got banned here. I am asking the moderators please allow me to post it here so that hundreds of concerned Istoryans can read about it and how it has magnified beyond our imagination

    Thanks,
    Mikel
