With fiber optics it is possible. The reason ngano hinay ang internet sa phil is tungod sa communication hardware nga gipang gamit. Hangtod karon nag gamit gihapon ta analog transmission like anang 2 wire communication nga telephone. We all know nga ang gitas-on sa wire maka affect sa data transfer thats y analog transmission gihapon ta. Pero kung moingon ang globe nga 150mbps with fiber optics, I will say nga nindot na nga product nila.

Bro, basin nasayop lang sad ka sa imong pangagpas. Gidak-an na diay ka anang 150mbps nga speed with the use of fiber optics? If naay employee ug Telecommunication nga more on hardware support gi tubag na ka.

Sorry to offend you about this pero na tagam ra siguro ka sa old services nila.

sorry to burst your bubble but I've been to the US specifically chicago, and there slowest speed for comcast actually stays at 10~15Mbps all the time.

1st - The 14.8Mbps of South Korea is average internet speed for the entire South Korean internet (users) population. The reason why the US doesn't have that much "average" speed is because the US is obviously much larger than SK and has around 7x more people... and since there are still states in the US that are still using old copper lines hence slow internet (believe it or not, but there are still dial-up users in some parts of the states), the country's average is much lower than SK. But to say the US can't even reach 5Mbps is false... 100Mbps and up residential plans in the US are common. Speeds over 100Mbps is pretty much common in Europe, I have an aunt in the Netherlands and her internet speed at home is 120Mbps @ 50euro per month.

2nd - Am not defending that Globe guy but being in the Telco industry myself, saying that you can download movies etc. etc., doesn't necessarily mean you're encouraging piracy. Their are legal sites wherein you can download movies, or stream them, for a fee... and again, it's legal.

I think what you guys should be asking is: Is their backbone wide enough to support and sustain these speeds? 150Mbps lagi ka going to Globe pero ig gawas kay 1.5Mbps ra ang sustained data rate... If muhatag sila ug SLA nga 20Mbps I think ok ra ni...
